................................................................................................................ 49 Úvod V této bakalářské diplomové práci se zaměřím na zkoumání a analýzu prvků metafory a simulace ve sportovních hokejových hrách. Jednoduše analyzuji vývoj prvků hry podobných realitě (simulace), nebo uměle vytvořených aspektů nahrazujících realitu (metafora). Simulaci v této práci chápu především jako napodobování skutečných objektů. Jedná se o imitaci reálných prvků týkající se hokejového zápasu do prostředí počítačové hry. Metaforu v tomto případě chápu především v prvcích, které tvůrci hry musí uměle vytvořit k obrazu reality. Ta je přitom natolik složitá, že ji musí nahradit jednodušším řešením. V českém i světovém akademickém prostoru se této tématice věnuje málo výzkumů. Proto si myslím, že by toto dílo mohlo být v diskurzu herních studií přínosné. Pro svou práci jsem si konkrétně vybral herní sérii NHL od sportovní odnože, americké vývojářské společnosti Electronic Arts. Cílem práce je především zjistit jak se vyvinuly prvky simulace a metafory u hokejových her z různých období. Pro výzkum jsem zvolil čtyři hry z let 1999, 2006, 2008 a 2018. Hlavní výzkumnou otázkou, kterou jsem si při tvorbě této práce kladl a budu se jí snažit ověřit, jaký byl vývoj prvků metafory a simulace ve sportovních hokejových hrách. Toto téma jsem si vybral hned z několika důvodů. Prvním z nich je, že herní studia a herní průmysl obecně, je dnes nejrychleji rostoucím průmyslem vůbec. V roce 2018 vydělal herní průmysl 139 miliard dolarů. Filmový a hudební průmysl dohromady téhož roku nevydělal ani polovinu, konkrétně pouze 61 miliard dolarů1. Předpokládá se, že v roce 2020 herní průmysl vynese více než 170 miliard dolarů2. Důvodem pro takto prudký nárůst může být i pandemie nemoci COVID-19 a s ním spojené karanténní opatření, které nutilo lidi trávit více času doma. Ještě nemáme data pro ověření této hypotézy, je však jasně vidět tempo, kterým se herní průmysl rozvíjí. Dalším důvodem je dosud nedostatečné prozkoumání této oblasti v akademické sféře. V teoretické části se zaměřím na definici her dle různých, světově uznávaných autorů, dále historií a vývojem hokejových her. Furthermore, the thesis aims to assess how these notions of quality relate to properties of the actual collection of video games. The empirical results are based on interviews with the responsible library personnel. The result is then analyzed by an interpretation of Carl Gustav Johannsen’s library adapted, theory-based, model of quality definitions. In order to assess relevant properties of the video game collection, we performed a categorization according to the genre-based framework of Andrew Rollings and Ernest Adams and, to a lesser extent, the work on video game genres by Mark J. P. Wolf. The results indicate that Johannsen’s proposed persepectives on quality correspond well to the views expressed by the interviewed personnel. However, the properties of the video game catalogue imply a collection lacking in multitude, in many ways identical to the current ratio of the commercial market.
