Government Defeat in Lords on Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill Wednesday 19/01/2011 On 19/01/2011 the government had a defeat in the House of Lords on an amendment to the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill: To prevent the Isle of Wight having to share a constituency with the mainland, and to exempt it from the 5 per cent variation rule. This was defeat number 9 in the parliamentary session.
