General Team Managers Meetings There will be four (4) General Team Managers (GTM) Meetings during the week. These meetings are an opportunity for the Gibraltar 2019 Organising Committee to brief Islands on updates from key Functional Areas and answer any questions. Key representatives from each Functional Area (ie: Sport, Transport, Ceremonies, Accommodation, Security) will attend GTM meetings.
All meetings will be held in the Conference Hall at the University of Gibraltar, Europa Point (Note: tea, coffee and a light snack will be provided for morning meetings). Meetings will be held on:
1. Saturday 6th July (15:00) 2. Monday 8th July (07:30) 3. Wednesday 10th July (07:30) 4. Friday 12th July (07:30)

Calentita Food Festival (Fri 5th July) As part of the Gibraltar 2019 Cultural Programme the ‘Calentita’ food festival will hold its annual gastronomic food festival on Friday 5th July commencing at 19:00 in Games Square, Casemates. ‘Calentita’ is the Gibraltar Foodie event of the year, a celebration to kick off the summer with a variety of food tents, live entertainment, cooking displays and dances.

NatWest International Reception (Sat 6th July) The NatWest International Reception (Opening Ceremony) will be held in the Main Stand at Europa Point Stadium on Saturday 6th July commencing at 17:30. Guests will be collected from their hotel (outside reception areas) by the TX Transport Service at 17:00.
Opening Ceremony (Sat 6th July) The Opening Ceremony will be held at Europa Point Stadium on Saturday 6th July commencing at 19:30 and concluding at 21:00. The Pre-Ceremony entertainment will commence at 19:00 with the Royal Marines Band.
A full briefing and Run Sheet of the Opening Ceremony will be given to Islands at the first General Team Managers Meeting on Saturday 6th July (15:00). Please find below the key critical times.
18:15 Buses transporting islands commence pick-ups from accommodation. 18:30 Coaches carrying athletes start arriving at Europa Sports complex 18:45 Athletes staying in village make way to assembly points (Team placards/signs will be at the assembly point) 19:00 Last coaches carrying athletes/islands arrive 19:15 All Islands to be ready for marching in 19:25 Islands will be moved forward just prior to entering the stadium 19:30 Islands enter the stadium 21:00 Conclusion of Opening Ceremony (as Islands depart Island placards/signs to be handed over at exit)

Games Square, Casemates (Sat 6th July) ‘Summer Nights’ will take place on a daily basis from Saturday 6th July to Saturday 13th July. All events will be held at Grand Casemates Square which will be named ‘Games Square’ during the week of the Games.
Medal Ceremonies will commence at 7.30pm followed by the Summer Nights entertainment.

Medical Seminar (Mon 8th July) The Medical Seminar will be held on Monday 8th July in the Conference Hall at the University of Gibraltar, Europa Point.

Tree Planting Ceremony (Wed 10th July) The Tree Planting Ceremony will be held at the Alameda Botanic Gardens, Wellington Memorial on Wed 10th July commencing at 11:00.

Closing Ceremony (Fri 12th July) The Closing Ceremony will be held at Europa Point Stadium on Friday 12th July commencing at 20:00 and concluding at 20:30. The Closing Ceremony is free to attend and open to all.
There will be an informal Reception following the Closing Ceremony in the Squash Centre, Europa Sports Complex for invited guests.
After Party (Fri 12th July) The After Party will be held at Europa Point (Harding’s Battery) after the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony commencing at 21:00 and concluding at 01:00.

Our Sporting Heroes Exhibition (until Sat 13th July) To celebrate the Gibraltar 2019 Games a major retrospective exhibition has been organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services. ‘Our Sporting Heroes’ is a tribute to Gibraltar’s participation at the Island Games over 30 years. The exhibition will be held at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery (Games Square, Casemates) from until Saturday the 13th July and will be open on weekdays from 10.30am to 7.30pm and on Saturdays from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
