Previous meetings • The two teams are meeting for the first time in UEFA competition and this is Genk's first encounter with Austrian opposition. • Rapid's ten previous meetings with Belgian clubs have produced the record W4 D2 L4 (W3 D0 L2 in Vienna – W1 D2 L2 in Belgium). However, they are without a win in their last five contests with Belgian sides (D1 L4) since beating RC Liégeois 1-0 in the third round of the 1989/90 UEFA Cup on 22 November 1989. Match background • Genk are in the driving seat in Group G after kicking off with a 1-0 victory at FC Dynamo Kyiv and a 2-1 home success versus FC Thun; they have won all four of their games in Europe this season. • Last season, Genk made it through to the round of 32 unbeaten on what was their UEFA Europa League group stage debut, topping their section with three wins and three draws. • A Christopher Trimmel equaliser deep into added time on matchday two allowed Rapid to claim a 2-2 draw against Dynamo and a first Group G point. • Rapid have lost their last five UEFA Europa League group stage away games since defeating PFC CSKA Sofia 2-0 on matchday three of the 2010/11 edition. • This is Rapid's fourth attempt at the group stage of this competition, though they have yet to successfully navigate their way through to the last 32. Team facts • Rapid defender Brian Behrendt celebrates his 22nd birthday on the day of the Genk match. • KSV Waterschei, who merged with KFC Winterslag to form Genk in 1988, reached the semi-finals of the 1982/83 European Cup Winners' Cup, losing out to Alex Ferguson's Aberdeen FC. Coach information • Hired in August 2011, Dutchman Mario Been won his first trophy as Genk coach when he guided his side to the 2012/13 Belgian Cup. An attacking midfielder, 'Mariodona' played for home-town club Feyenoord, Pisa Calcio, Roda JC, sc Heerenveen, FC Tirol Innsbruck and another Rotterdam side, SBV Excelsior. He subsequently coached both Excelsior and Feyenoord either side of leading NEC Nijmegen through the 2008/09 UEFA Cup group stage. • Zoran Barisic's second spell as Rapid coach commenced in spring 2013, and the midfielder has deep roots with the club. Born in Vienna but of Croatian descent, he was among the key performers as Rapid reached the 1995/96 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final and won the Austrian title the same year, and later won three titles at FC Tirol Innsbruck. He returned to the Rapid youth ranks to start his coaching career. 3 KRC Genk - SK Rapid Wien Thursday 24 October 2013 - 19.00CET (19.00 local time) Match press kit KRC Genk Arena, Genk Team facts KRC Genk Formed: 1988 Nickname: Genkies UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • none Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 3 (2011) Belgian Cup: 4 (2013) Ten-year record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2012/13: round of 32 2011/12: UEFA Champions League group stage 2010/11: play-offs 2009/10: play-offs 2008/09: did not take part in UEFA competition 2007/08: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round 2006/07: did not take part in UEFA competition 2005/06: first round 2004/05: UEFA Intertoto Cup semi-finals 2003/04: did not take part in UEFA competition Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 5-0: Genk v MSV Duisburg 01/10/98, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup first round second leg • Biggest away win 0-5: B36 Tórshavn v Genk 21/06/97, UEFA Intertoto Cup group stage • Heaviest home defeat 2-5: Genk v SV Werder Bremen 09/11/00, UEFA Cup second round second leg 0-3: Genk v FC Porto 19/08/10, UEFA Europa League play-offs first leg • Heaviest away defeat 7-0: Valencia CF v Genk 23/11/11, UEFA Champions League group stage UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League • Biggest home win 5-2: Genk v FH Hafnarfjördur 29/08/13, play-off second leg 3-0: Genk v Videoton FC 20/09/12, group stage 3-0: Genk v FHK Liepājas Metalurgs 25/08/05, second qualifying round second leg • Biggest away win 1-5: FC Inter Turku v Genk 29/07/10, third qualifying round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 2-5: Genk v SV Werder Bremen (see above) 0-3: Genk v FC Porto (see above) • Heaviest away defeat 4-1: SV Werder Bremen v Genk 24/10/00, second round first leg 4 KRC Genk - SK Rapid Wien Thursday 24 October 2013 - 19.00CET (19.00 local time) Match press kit KRC Genk Arena, Genk SK Rapid Wien Formed: 1899 Nickname: Die Grün-Weißen (The Green-Whites) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • UEFA Cup Winners' Cup: (1985), (1996) • UEFA Intertoto Cup: 2007 Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 32 (2008) Austrian Cup: 14 (1995) Ten-year European record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2012/13: group stage 2011/12: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2010/11: group stage 2009/10: group stage 2008/09: UEFA Champions League second qualifying round 2007/08: first round (having transferred from UEFA Intertoto Cup) 2006/07: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2005/06: UEFA Champions League group stage 2004/05: first round 2003/04: did not take part in UEFA club competition Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 8-0: Rapid v FC Avenir Beggen 29/09/82, European Champions Clubs' Cup first round second leg • Biggest away win 1-6: F91 Dudelange v Rapid 27/07/05, UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg 0-5: FC Avenir Beggen v Rapid 15/09/82, European Champions Clubs' Cup first round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 2-6: Rapid v ACF Fiorentina 25/10/61, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup first round second leg 0-4: Rapid v Bayer 04 Leverkusen 25/10/12, UEFA Europa League group stage • Heaviest away defeat 7-2: AC Milan v Rapid 12/02/56, European Champion Clubs' Cup quarter-final second leg 5-0: Juventus v Rapid 30/10/96, UEFA Champions League group stage UEFA Cup/Europa League • Biggest home win 6-1: Rapid v 1. UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE - 2018/19 SEASON MATCH PRESS KITS Stade Josy Barthel - Luxembourg Thursday 13 December 2018 21.00CET (21.00 local time) F91 Dudelange Group F - Matchday 6 Real Betis Balompié Last updated 12/12/2018 04:02CET Match background 2 Legend 4 1 F91 Dudelange - Real Betis Balompié Thursday 13 December 2018 - 21.00CET (21.00 local time) Match press kit Stade Josy Barthel, Luxembourg Match background Luxembourg's F91 Dudelange bid farewell to a first UEFA Europa League group campaign that has brought five defeats but plenty of dogged determination. They will hope to sign off in style against unbeaten Real Betis, whose place in the knockout phase is already secure and who are now looking to go through as Group F winners. • Dudelange almost caused a sensation on matchday five when they led seven-time European champions AC Milan 2- 1 at San Siro midway through the second half, but they eventually ran out of steam. The 5-2 defeat was their fifth out of five and the second game in a row in which they had conceded five goals. Their total of 16 goals against is the highest in the group stage. • Betis booked their round of 32 ticket by beating Olympiacos 1-0 in Seville last time out. They have taken four points off both the Greek side and Milan and will top the group with a win against Dudelange, or if the Rossoneri do not win in Piraeus. Previous meetings • Betis had never faced a team from Luxembourg, nor had Dudelange encountered opposition from Spain, before the club's matchday two meeting in Seville, which the Andalusian club won 3-0 with three second-half goals.
