Southern California Summer Picnic Sunday, July 20, appr0ximately 30 members enjoyed the Western Region Summer Picnic held for the first time at George Mason Park in Irvine. This will be the location of the Show for the Western National Meet October 11. Theparkhasbeenimprovedsincethe 1999 Western National Meet. There will be accommodations for up to 120 cars parked on the grass. Norm and Nancy Hoskins provided a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, deserts and drinks and John Walcek took many pictures of members and their cars. By having the picnic here we were able to get acquainted with the layout and plan spacing well in advance. The total take was $14.5 million and included 7 Lincolns, 1 Edsel, 37 Fords, Secretary and 7 Mercurys.
