A Wynonna Earp Fan Podcast #125 – Dominique Provost-Chalkley Season 3 Interview Tales of the Black Badge – A Wynonna Earp Fan Podcast #125 – Dominique Provost-Chalkley Season 3 Interview This interview is safe to listen to and/or read after you’ve seen the Wynonna Earp season 3 finale “War Paint” (3x12). A BIG Earper thank you to Hanis (aka @nhtheengineer on Twitter) for creating this transcript! :) Podcasters: Kevin Bachelder (@WynonnaEarpPod) and Bonnie Ferrar (@WynonnaFans) Introduction: The following is a presentation of Tuning in to SciFi TV, the viewers’ guide to genre television. (Wynonna Earp theme song ‘Tell That Devil’ plays) Kevin: Hello everyone, and welcome to Tales of the Black Badge, a Wynonna Earp fan podcast. I’m Kevin Bachelder. Bonnie: And I’m Bonnie Ferrar. We just got off of an interview with Dominique Provost-Chalkley, and when I tell you it was life-changing, I am not even kidding. It was one of THE best times I’ve had on a phone call with anybody. So.. (laughter) Kevin: Yeah, I mean, you folks.. I’m sure most of you have listened to our previous interviews with her. You know how giving of herself, and her time she is, and this is another great example of it. I mean, we certainly talked a lot about the show, and the character of Waverly, but as you’re going to hear, this is so much more than that. Um, it’s.. It’s.. It’s just special. I don’t know words, words are missing right now. It’s really special. Bonnie: Yeah. I mean, it’s.. To have someone like Dominique, on Wynonna Earp, and to have her.. Once you listen to the podcast, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. She.. She’s not only an inspiration to so many people, younger and older than her, she is a leader, um, who is.. in just.. positive change for good, but in also, in teaching all of us how important it is to be brave, and to be our authentic selves, and to remind us all that no matter who you are, whether you are someone on Twitter with 3 followers, or whether you are the.. you know, one of the MAIN characters in a very popular TV show, um, we’re all, deep down, the same, in the things that we struggle with, in the things that bring us joy, in the things that make us human. And to have a chance to discuss all these things with her was truly a gift. So, if you’re listening, Dominique, we love you, and I know our listeners are gonna absolutely love this. Kevin: Yes, you folks are. This.. yeah. Even myself, a long-time podcaster, hundreds and hundreds of episodes, I forgot at some points that we were recording an interview. This was 3 friends talking, and the ups and downs of life, and it’s.. Can’t thank her enough, we really can’t. So, before we babble too much, we’ll turn it over and let you folks enjoy the interview. (Transition sound effect plays) Page 1 of 28 Bonnie: Kevin and I are very excited to have a literal angel, (Dominique laughs) on our podcast, both on screen and off, (Dominique: Awww.) please welcome Dominique Provost-Chalkley. Welcome back, hun. Dominique: Bonnie! That is SO sweet! (Kevin and Bonnie laugh) Awww. I was not expecting that introduction, at all. Um.. (Bonnie laughs) I don’t know. I.. am an angel in the show, that’s all we have, isn’t it? So.. (Bonnie and Dom laughs) There’s that. But thank you, I really appreciate it. Bonnie: We are very excited to have you back on our podcast. It’s been a while.. (Dom: Oh, me too. Yeah..) since we had you on. Dom: I know, SO sorry about that. I don’t know why I haven’t been on sooner, but I’m just extremely grateful that you’re having me back nonetheless. And it does feel like we have A LOT to talk about. (Dom laughs) Bonnie: Yeah, well, since we last had you on our podcast, early in Season 2.. and some of the things we talked about was.. was just how, how MUCH you did in Season 2, with all the various, uh, you know, singing, and, you know, cheerleading, and just.. it just seemed like every episode we were getting something new, and you mentioned.. You said, “Well, I don’t imagine Waverly will.. will have much.. a BIG Season 3.” Dom: Oh yeah! I did say that! (everyone laughs) So, turns out, I was wrong. (Bonnie: Turns out..) I literally.. I forgot that I had said it on the podcast, because I say it now, as in like, that’s what I thought, but I had forgotten because my memory is so terrible, that I had actually vocalized that to you, so now you know, it’s true. That’s what I thought, genuinely. Um, and as always, I am totally surprised by this show, and where it goes, and whatever, and um.. Yeah, it was soon into filming the first half of the season, that I was like, “Um, I guess not! I guess Waverly IS going to have a big storyline.” And then it just got progressively bigger and bigger, and I mean, the ending is just unbelievable, isn’t it? Really. Kevin: That’s a good word for it, yes. Still processing. (Dom: Mmm.) (Kevin and Dom laughs) Dom: I bet. I bet. Kevin: But we started things off with a lot of fun, right from the get-go, getting to be glamored by vampires, how much fun was that? Dom: Oh, SO good. It was just a lovely way to start the season. Um, you know, we all came back, like, not knowing what to expect.. The year before had obviously been so powerful, with the pregnancy.. Um, and I think for all of us, really, it was just like, “Okay, so what is Season 3 gonna have in store?” And then, yeah, like you say, right from the get-go, we’ve got sexy Petra glamoring me in a toilet, and I was like, “Yeah, this is about right.” (laughs) Um, and I just love that scene, when Kat comes out and she’s like, “Her name is Petra, and I love her.” And it’s just like, SO good. Um, but yeah.. And just getting back together with all the cast, really, and having such a action packed first, pilot episode, with vampires.. I mean, what more could you want, really? Bonnie: Well, and you went from this REALLY fun, uh, sexy pink fog, vampire.. beginning of the season, right into a really emotional loss, with Dolls. (Dom: Yeah..) And having to do the third episode, where the entire episode talks about grief. (Dom: Hmm.) And I think.. I think, first of all, I think the writers did such an AMAZING job with that episode, in really tackling all the different ways people grieve (Dom: Hmm.) the loss of someone. Um, but, I really liked that the way each one of your characters grieved, and Page 2 of 28 especially your character, (Dom: Hmm.) was right in line with how they would’ve.. how you as a viewer felt like they probably would have reacted. (Dom: Hmm.) Um, Waverly being focused on being the helper, and just, you know? (Dom: Hmm.) “I’ll make sandwiches!” And.. (Dom laughs) And almost giggling, you know? Um, (Dom: Yeah.) I really liked that. Dom: You know, me too. Me too, Bonnie. And it’s actually funny, I was surprised at how many people reached out to me, um, after that episode, saying, “Thank you so much for portraying Waverly’s grief in that way. I’ve never seen that represented on screen before. That’s me. I saw myself in that.” Um, and I was so happy to hear that, because when I read it on the page, um.. I mean, yeah, like you say, it was just so perfect for Waverly, but I kind of didn’t really.. There was so many dynamics going on, that I wasn’t so much thinking about, like, the specifics of how Waverly would grieve. It was so much of an ensemble. I don’t know how to describe it. It’s just like, all of the dynamics MADE this kind of mish-mash of energies that were bouncing off each other, and of course, keeping it in line with how Waverly would react, right? Um, but.. I’m so glad it spoke to people, because that’s exactly right. Like, everybody grieves in a different way, don’t they? And, yeah. Of course she would make sandwiches, the little cutie. (laughs) Aww, I love her so much. Bonnie: I know. Well, especially somebody who grieves in a way where they, they find themselves kind of nervously, like, laughing, (Dom: Yeah.) or thinks something’s funny, um, it’s not usually perceived, as.. you know, most people go like, “How can you.. How can you be so light-hearted (Dom: Exactly.) at a time like this?” (Dom: Yeah.) And not understanding that that’s just the way that that person is trying to process loss. Dom: Absolutely. And a coping mechanism, in many ways. (Bonnie: Yeah.) Because it’s like, if you actually delve into the real pain that’s underneath all of that, then, you know, perhaps she would break. So it’s just like, she has to keep it on that level, you know? She always puts other people first, and tries to support them, before herself, and I think that’s exactly what you see.

[email protected] SEX AFTER KIDS Production Notes About the Story When writer and director Jeremy LaLonde (The Untitled Work of Paul Shepard) decided he wanted to move forward with his sophomore feature film, he took a rather unconventional approach. He cast the film and then wrote the script. He says, “Itʼs far easier to write when youʼve got a voice of a character in your head, and even easier when you know exactly who is going to play that part.” And, he also adapted the old adage – write what you know. The idea for Sex After Kids was born out of his own experience. At the time, he had a newborn and a three-year-old, as he said, “Itʼs safe to say that I knew enough about this subject to realize it was pretty fertile ground and that there were probably a decent amount of people who would appreciate a comedy about the subject.” Ultimately to Jeremy, the film can mean different things for different people. “For me,” he says, “itʼs about how relationships are hard and then when you throw in uncontrollable elements it can make them impossible – but thatʼs when people grow. Itʼs about how relationships change over time and how some people have a hard time dealing with that fact.” Shannon Beckner, who plays Jules, shares the same sentiment as Jeremy, she commented, “This film is about the entirely new lives many of us unwittingly start when we bring another human being into our old ones.

  • Who Wouldn't Want to Escape the Cold Winter And
Who wouldn’t want to escape the cold winter and head to Vegas for a few days of discussion, networking and celebrating? If that sounds like a good idea, then ClexaCon may be for you. ClexaCon is the first media and entertainment convention for LGBTQ women and allies, and it’s going to be held March 3-5, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV. There will be featured guests from television and film, including Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell from Wynonna Earp, Person of Interest‘s Amy Acker, Bomb Girls’ Ali Liebert, Carmilla’s Elise Bauman and Natasha Negovanlis and Lost Girl favorites Zoie Palmer and Rachel Skarsten, as well as networking events, panels, workshops and autograph sessions. For the Toronto born Skarsten, the decision to attend was a no-brainer. “What reason is there to not want to be a part of it,” Skarsten tells The TV Junkies. The actress, who in addition to Lost Girl has also been on Flashpoint, The LA Complex and Beauty and the Beast and currently plays Queen Elizabeth on Reign. “I’ve been very lucky to play some badass women,” she says. Thanks to those women and the shows she’s been a part of, Skarsten is no stranger to fan conventions. “Unlike theater, film and TV actors don’t have the privilege of seeing their audiences’ reactions. There’s such a wonderful energy in that reciprocity. It’s a big part of why I love being an actor,” explains Skarsten. She loves getting to meet fans face to face, and says conventions such as ClexaCon are “a lovely opportunity to experience how they [fans] feel about the show.
