The presentation made use of information gathered from a variety of sources that relate directly to the Electro technology QCF Diplomas, The LSIS Champion had been able to attend a wider range of meetings by relevant stakeholders due to the support of the project. The presentation also made use of LSIS materials such as the animation overviews and suggested as good starting points to disseminate to staff in their own centres. A survey gathered information on the opinion of the attendees and the areas of development. Action groups were formed to take the forward the developments in the QCF for Electro technology . The action groups gathered information from all the attendees to develop a starting point for action planning. How satisfied were the recipients with the support provided? The survey illustrated that whole organisation approach to planning and understanding to the QCF was highly developed. However concerns existed over the understanding and dissemination of the details to the electro technology QCF with only 58% agreeing that this had previously been effective. From statements taken delegates highlighted that the QCF Champion scheme, the QCF websites and the related network group meetings and seminars, had been their main source of effective information to the QCF implementation. These were points that were carried forward in the further developments resulting from this project. What were the opportunities and challenges you faced in providing this support? The project demonstrated that at present there is a great desire to collaborate in the Further Education industry with most centres extremely willing to be involved or contribute to developments in the QCF. At present the QCF is viewed as a positive development in the methodology for teaching and learning. The main issues of challenge were around a concern that changing funding regimes and delayed timeframes were not creating a feeling of confidence with the frontline delivery staff. Next steps (including details of any future joint capacity building activity): The project has increased the sense of purpose of the liaison group as it now has plans to promote itself to a wider audience of centres that need to be supported as the QCF in electro technology develops. The highlighted points will be driven by the LSIS Champion with the support of the group . The liaison group intends to maintain the email newsletter that relies on QCF2200 - Eastleigh College - FINAL Page 2 of 3 feedback from the membership to continue effectively. The seminar set up two working groups for the two areas of the region East and West of London. These have selected action points from the seminar in Havering as starting points to act as another source of feedback and support for the Sector Skills Council and Awarding Organisations to ensure a QCF suite of qualifications that meet the needs and aspirations of the sector and the learners concerned. Additional comments: The project has acted as a valuable support to ensure a wide range of individuals and centres have an effective understanding of the rapidly developments in QCF. In Electro technology qualifications the details are as yet not fully agreed and the project has assisted to adding clarity and providing a sense of empowerment to frontline staff who do not always feel they are fully consulted.
