    Mike Andersen - biografi - pressemeddelelse Mike Andersen har en karakteristisk, stærk vokal, en intens guitarstil, og ikke mindst et fantastisk band! Mike Andersen er derfor med god grund ét af Danmarks travleste live-navne. 44-årige Mike Andersen, døbt Mikkel Dybdal Andersen, begyndte at spille guitar da han var 12 år gammel i Rødekro i Sønderjylland. Allerede som teenager spillede han på barer og spillesteder i forskellige bands og begyndte desuden allerede hér at skrive sange. Som 16-årig blev Aarhus hans nye hjemby, og byens levende musikliv og jamsessions blev rammen om hans tidlige ungdom. I en alder af blot 22 startede han sit eget Mike Andersen Band, som udgav det anmelderroste debutalbum ‘My Love For The Blues’ i 2002. Som ung dyrkede Mike Andersen de store amerikanske bluesguitarister og soulsangere intenst. Mike har dog altid haft en erkendelse af, at den musik han er så forelsket i stammer fra en tid længe før han blev født, og fra et sted langt fra Rødekro. Dén erkendelse, samt en nysgerrighed på andre genrer, og hvad der foregår musikalsk i den tid vi lever i, har betydet at Mike Andersen altid har søgt sin egen stil og lyd. 2010 blev et vendepunkt Mike Andersens tredje album, ECHOES, blev det danske gennembrud for den 34-årige sanger, sangskriver og guitarist. ECHOES høstede 5 hjerter i Politiken, blev “Ugens Album" på P4 og modtog tre Danish Music Awards-nomineringer. Mike vandt senere en Danish Music Award for albummet HOME (Årets Roots Album - 2015) ECHOES bringer for alvor Mike Andersen på landevejen, og gennem de sidste 25 år har han, både med band og som solo artist, spillet over 1500 koncerter i mere end tyve lande.

Throughout 2020, TGGBS produced nine blues music videos using three different studios and launched these marvelous performances on three different platforms: Can’t Stop The Blues, Howlive.tv, and Piedmont Piano. We showcased some amazing Bay Area talent such as Alabama Mike, Aki Kumar, Kyle Rowland, Al Von, HowellDevine, Neicey LivingSingle, Michael Skinner, Sam-One, and on June 24th we will sponsor Steve Freund & Jan Fanucchi. These performances will remain on our YouTube channel - available to the artists, fans, and promoters. We hope that you will subscribe to our new channel and enjoy these shows. I recently created a tagline for TGGBS: “Your Gateway to Bay Area Blues.” This has a multitude of meanings.     Popa Chubby “In 1990 The Popa Chubby band was born after a jam session with P Funk’s Bernie Worrell. Popa began playing east coast clubs and in a short time became the house band at the legendary Manny’s Car Wash in NYC where he worked with notable artists from Albert King to Odetta. In 1993, after winning first place in the KLON National Blues Talent Search (runner up was Keb Mo),he signed a deal with the Sony’s O-KEH label and made the record “Booty And The Beast” with legendary Atlantic Records producer Tom Dowd at the helm. The record yielded a Billboard top 100 hit with “Sweet Goddess Of Love And Beer.” Chubby was on his way. After the birth of his twin daughters, Theodora and Tipitina, he began to tour the world. Popa Chubby became a mainstay on the European festival scene and he has headlined such notable festivals as The Nice Jazz Festival, Freewheels Festival, Bos Pop Festival, The Kolne Rhythm and Blues Festival, The Montreal Jazz Festival, The New York State Blues Festival, and many more. Fun Fact: Popa was contacted by Dreamworks Productions and asked to audition for the role of Shrek on Broadway. He worked in two staged readings with Tony award winning director Jason Moore before previous commitments took him back on tour. In 2009 Popa joined the Dutch based Provogue record label and released the blues rock masterpiece “The Fight Is On.” 2010 saw Popa’s highest grossing year to date with concerts in 11 countries.
