SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL (A30 WINDWHISTLE, CRICKET ST THOMAS) (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2016 NOTICE is hereby given that Somerset County Council proposes to make the above Order in pursuance of the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary 30 mph speed limit on the length of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order is required to facilitate highway works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties. The restrictions may not be effected for the whole period but it is anticipated that the roads will be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. The Order becomes effective on the 17th March 2016 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to start on the 22nd March 2016 and to last for 8 days. The Settlement Profile has been produced using 2011 Census data for the ‘Martock Built-up Area’ (BUA) which also includes Bower Hinton (Figure 1.1), unless otherwise stated. Martock & Bower Hinton is a Rural Centre located just to the north of the A303, across the A-road from Stoke Sub Hamdon. The settlement is to the north east of South Petherton, and due south from Long Load and Long Sutton. 1.3. Martock has been designated as a Neighbourhood Area, including Bower Hinton, Coat, and Stapleton, but as yet no Regulation 14 pre-submission consultation has been undertaken. 2. POPULATION 2.1 Figure 2.1 shows the age profile of Martock & Bower Hinton resident population, assessing the number and percentage of residents in each of the following groups: children; working age; and older people. Yeovil Town RRC 2020 Club Championships and Slam Hat Update As you have probably seen on the May Club Minutes the Club Championships will now not be happening this year. However, the Slam Hats can still be awarded by running Virtual Races and the following Rules will apply. It may also be that a contribution towards these may need to be charged because Club funds will probably not be available due to the lack of income from our cancelled races. Updated Rules Due to Covid-19 Slam Hat Awards are revised and the following races/virtual rules apply to be eligible towards this year’s Hats: (1) Any Actual/YTRRC-organised Virtual race completed between 30th November 2019 and 16th September 2020 will be allowed; (2) The following cancelled races can be run virtually (unless of course lockdown is lifted to enable the race to be held), but must be within three days of the original date of that race, eg Martock 10k scheduled for 21st June can be completed virtually between 20th & 22nd June inclusive.
