Brainy Quote ~ Oprah Winfrey 007
Brainy Quote ~ Oprah Winfrey 007 “Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.” Seperti yang diutarakan Oprah Winfrey, seorang pilantropist, produser, aktris, dan host talk show terkenal lewat ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’, berkebangsaan Amerika, lahir pada tahun 1954 (berusia 64 tahun saat ini), melalui quote-nya, ’Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.’ -

It is designed to provide you with helpful information as you journey towards your goals. This guide addresses a variety of possible obstacles that you may face while on your path to becoming ‘The Best You Possible.” More than a reference book, this is a guide that you can use at your own pace. It is full of pathway exploration points, where each of the points cover information appropriate for the six cities in which the empowerYOU Program operates: GREENBURGH; MOUNT VERNON; NEW ROCHELLE; TUCKAHOE; WHITE PLAINS; and YONKERS. Please note that if there is not a source in your city, do not despair; you may still have options at a city or cities closest to you. Also, if you desire additional options under one of the pathway exploration points, please look for them in the Appendix section. The “Who Am I” stop requires special attention. It is the last stop along your ongoing journey, and actively addresses five different areas for your consideration: digital footprints, public libraries, affordable clothing, legal services, and identification cards. Each of these will be important as you strive to become The Best YOU. If there is anything within this playbook that you may need more clarity on, please contact your local empowerYOU staff person. -

A phone issue in Indonesia leads to a 17-hour bus ride full of teenagers. These are the everyday miracle moments we live for, right?—when a random encounter leads to an unexpected journey. Lisa, the blogger at Chicky Bus, believes that "that when you put yourself out there—off the beaten path—and take some risks (nothing crazy; just stepping outside of your comfort zone a bit), amazing things can happen." This is right off her bio, and guess what? She lives about Life Lift Photo: Thinkstock by her Chicky Bus creed. The blog is full of adventures just like this one: a recent trip to The Oprah blog is a place where you Indonesia, when a conversation in a restaurant led to a wild shopping trip with a local, which in can find engaging news coverage, fresh inspiration, and the straight talk you've turn led to the aforementioned totally unexpected bus trip with 20 teenagers. “Congratulations! Today Is Your Day. You're Off To
“Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away!” Welcome graduates, faculty, families, and friends. Beginning this address by quoting Dr. Seuss seems appropriate. He has, in many of our childhoods, inspired us to expand our horizons, accept new challenges, and take different paths. The world is our personal adventure. You know... Plenty of us have heard this story before. He has told us that we have brains in our head. We have feet in our shoes. We can steer ourselves in any direction we choose. Today across America, there are likely dozens of graduates giving similar speeches to different crowds all referring back to the classic children’s book Oh, The Places You’ll Go!. But mine is a little bit different. As it turns out, Dr. Seuss might have missed something. What are we supposed to do if we don’t know what to do? If we can steer ourselves in any direction we choose, how are we supposed to know what to choose? For a while, I knew. I had a plan. I was so confident and self-assured that I would scream my plan from the rooftops. “The plan” was a major accomplishment. I had spent nearly four years of my college career trekking down a path with clearly marked signs pointing in the direction of law school. I had figured out what I was going to do with my life when I was seventeen years old, and I was never going to change my mind. Until, of course, I changed my mind last December. -
