OF the CTA.Wpd CUMULATIVE INDEX FOR THE FIRST 40 YEARS (1967-2006) OF THE CTA BULLETIN 1967 1977 1987 1997 2007 INTRODUCTION Cinema Theatre Indexes were originally published in 1994 and were updated to the end of 2006 and published to mark the fortieth anniversary of the founding, in 1967, of the Cinema Theatre Association. In its early years the CTA Bulletin consisted entirely of text but, in recent years, the use of pictures has increased considerably so a separate index to Bulletin pictures was added. The 2006 edition of Cinema Theatre Indexes was dedicated to the memory of two leading members of the CTA, Marcus Eavis and Tony Moss, who did so much to shape the Association and its publications. It is also a tribute to the contribution to our knowledge made by the Editors, both past and present, of this CTA publication. CTA BULLETIN - Volume 1 (1967) to Volume 40 (2006) The Bulletin has been published bi-monthly since 1967. There are three indexes: 1. Subject (mainly geographical) except Greater London 2. London 3. Illustrations. Each annual volume of the Bulletin consists of six issues. The format of the references is - Subject Volume number - Issue number: page number(s) Pagination was continuous throughout volumes 3-16 and the issue number is shown as 0. Some back issues of the CTA Bulletin are also available, please send enquiries for specific issues to The CTA Sales Officer, 34 Pelham Road, Wood Green, LONDON N22 6LN or email: [email protected] 2 CTA Bulletin - Vol. 1 (1967) to Vol.40 (2006) Subject Index (except Greater London entries) The CTA Bulletin has been published bi-monthly in the odd-numbered months of each year ie. January, March, May, July, September and November. Each year has comprised one volume. The issues for Vol.3 (1969) to Vol.16 (1982) were paginated continuously through the volume. The prior and succeeding volumes were separately paginated within each issue. The format of this index is as follows: Volume number - Issue number: page number(s). So that 37 - 1:1,14,21 indicates page numbers 1, 14 and 21 of Vol.37 No.1. For later issues in the same volume the volume number is not repeated, hence 31 - 4:10 5:6 indicates page 10 of issue 4 and page 6 of issue 5 of the same volume, No.31 For volumes 3 to 16 inclusive the issue number is shown as 0 (see above). “S” after the issue number indicates a separate supplement. 1930s 32 - • Bsac Film Conference 2012
BSAC FILM CONFERENCE 2012 Thursday, 22 March THE RUTHERFORD CONFERENCE CENTRE, 76 PORTLAND PLACE, LONDON, W1B 1NT Sponsored by Below is a summary of the presentations given on the day. Chair’s Introduction Stephen Garrett, Chairman, Kudos Film and Television and Executive Chairman, Shine Pictures The Chair welcomed guests to the ninth annual BSAC Film Conference. Stephen highlighted a quote from Steve Jobs, who had grown the most successful business in history, that he felt would be useful to keep in mind over the course of the day, ‘here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the trouble makers, the round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them; but the only thing you can't do is ignore them, because they change things. They push the human race forward, and whilst some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones that think that they can change the world are the ones who do’. Today’s conference would focus on how the film business was adapting to change. The business was entering a world where cinemas would be 100% digital, superfast broadband would enable new ways of delivering films and films were available globally across a multiplicity of devices and platforms. The Apple ecosystem was becoming ever more attractive to consumers as the new iPad 3 had an HD screen, which was better than most 40” TVs as well as boasting 3D capability.
