The Sadbhavana day pledge was as follow “I take this solemn pledge that I will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language. A cultural programme was also organized by our students to entertain the inmates of the Vijetha Special School. Date Organized: 15th August 2017 The sum of Rs.7500 /- was donated to the Indian Association for the Blind, Madurai. Event 4: Fire Fighting Demonstration Date Organized: 13th of October 2017 The NSS MITE Chapter conducted a ‘Fire Fighting Demonstration’ at the MITE Grounds on 13th of October 2017. The event was demonstrated by the officials of the Fire Fighting Service, Government of Karnataka, Mangalore Division. This was done to emphasize and appreciate the importance of the Fire-Fighting Department and the role it plays during such calamities. This program was conducted at the Primary Health Center, Durga, Karkala on 19th January 2018 Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering P a g e 7 | 15 Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (An ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institute) (A Unit of Rajalaxmi Education Trust) Badaga Mijar, Moodbidri-574225 Event 6: SWACH BHARATH ABHIYAAN Date Organized: 10th of February 2018 A Mega Blood Donation Camp was organized in the campus on the 10th of February 2018 in association with Lions Club International, Bendoorwell, the Tejaswini Blood Bank, Kadri, the K S Hegde Blood Bank, Mangalore, the KMC Blood Bank, Mangalore and the Red Cross Society of India, Mangalore branch. The event was inaugurated by Dr.M.Shantharam Shetty, M.D, Tejasvini Hospitals. Over 300 units of blood samples were collected from about 500 participants. She participated in the state level Republic Day Parade held on the 26th of January 2018 at the Manik Shaw Parade ground, Bangalore. There were four stages in the selection process viz. namely the College level, the University level, the State level and the South India Level. During the next Three years, various developmental activities have been planned to be conducted under the NSS chapter of MITE.
