Week 5 on Talking Pictures TV Join Caroline Munro at ‘The Cellar Club’ this week. Are you looking for a little stimulation tonight or just be scared to death?... Well tonight’s first offering from The Cellar will certainly do that! Continuing with our hammer horror season is: ‘The Devil Rides Out’, direct- ed again by Terence Fisher and I think one of his best. Set in the 1930’s, its a classic tale of good versus evil starring Christopher Lee and Charles Gray. Its has some truly scary moments. Maybe the special effects compared to modern times are a little dated but the sheer weight of evil threat from beginning to end makes it a true Hammer classic so lets enjoy. Next up is an excellent crime noir: ‘He Walked By Night’ made in 1948 starring Richard Basehart and Scott Brady. The film has a real raw feel to it based on true events and shot in semi documentary style it chronicles the police procedures in tracking down a cop killer. Basehart is a chilling, small time crook which belays his true evil. Films showing from 9pm on Friday 1st October.
