The cathedral city of Truro, Cornwall’s capital city is around 9 miles away and provides an excellent array of shopping, leisure and commercial facilities together with a main line railway station on the Penzance to Paddington line. Just over a mile away is Kingsley Village a very useful ‘out of town’ shopping centre where there will shortly be a new Marks & Spencer store in addition to the existing shops and cafés. Nearby Summercourt has a useful shop for day to day amenities plus very busy Post Office, a flower shop and two pubs, The Foxes Revenge and The London Inn. Within a few minutes from the property is access on to the A30 which is Cornwall’s main arterial road allowing for quick access throughout the county and to the motorway network at Exeter. To the north lies Newquay Airport which provides daily shuttle flights to a growing range of internal and international destinations. The location of St Enoder between Newquay, Truro and St Austell makes this one of the most accessible and central locations in Cornwall. 5 Ref: LCAA7292 GENERAL INFORMATION VIEWING – Strictly by prior appointment through: Lillicrap Chilcott, Landrian House, 59-60 Lemon Street, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 2PE. I have always felt that to have a Cornwall Council seat that included Fowey w th Tywardreath was illog cal - they are totally separate commun ties. I think 2 new seats could be made as follows: Take the Fowey parish wards out. Make 1 seat from the 3 wards of Tywardreath and Par Parish Council + St Blazey North ward (estimated at 5439 electors in 2023). Make a 2nd seat from St Blazey South ward + both wards of Carlyon parish + Charlestown ward of St Austell Bay parish (estimated at 4650 electors in 2023). Carlyon Bay is hardly separate from St Blazey, it makes no sense having a dividing line down Par Moor Road. Charlestown has links with St Blazey Gate - they now have the same vicar and the buses from St Blazey go through there. Some adjustment would probably have to be made as to where the line is drawn between the St Blazey parish wards - either ABN2 or 3 might have to be moved into St Blazey South to even up the numbers for each Cornwall Council seat. • Newquay Transport Strategy Development
Newquay Transport Strategy Development Appendix B – Town Model May 2017 Bude and Stratton Town Model Technical Note 10 CORNWALL COUNCIL CORNWALL TOWNS MODELS NEWQUAY TOWN MODEL TECHNICAL NOTE 16 17TH OCTOBER 2012 PROJECT: 285300FN-HLV 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report examines how the highway network within Newquay is predicted to operate in 2030 with the levels of development growth proposed in the emerging Core Strategy. Allowances have been made for background traffic growth and development-related traffic. A series of strategic sustainable transport measures and highways network improvements are proposed to mitigate the impacts of this growth. A traffic model has been developed for Newquay which has been used to predict where congestion and delays will occur in 2030. An assumed level of modal switch from the private car was then modelled to reflect what could be achieved through the proposed sustainable transport measures. This highlighted any remaining key issues on the highway network; where necessary, potential highway improvement schemes have been identified and initial cost estimates for the works provided. The following table summarises those locations which are predicted to experience future capacity issues (after the sustainable measures have been implemented), along with the recommended improvements and indicative costs of these works.
