On Saturday 14th July, St Bedes/Mentone Tigers held a whole day to honour Jane Barnes and in doing so, raised money for Maddie’s Vision. The community came together and held a womens and mens football match. Alongside this, they put together a beautiful club lunch, where CEO Nicky Long spoke about her friendship with Jane and the work that Maddie’s Vision is doing. The volunteers sold beanies, held raffles, an auction and asked for donations. It was a huge day with so much work from all involved. An emotional day and a wonderful way to stop and reflect on striving to achieve greater outomes in medical research. St Bedes Hockey Club also held a fundraising evening a few weeks later.
