PORTO PUBLIC NOTICE ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS SHCOOL

POLYTECHNIC OF ADMISSION TO MASTERS COURSES SCHOOL YEAR 2020/2021

João Manuel Simões da Rocha, President of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (P.PORTO), hereby discloses that, under the terms of paragraph a) of article 26 of Decree-Law no. 74/2006, of March 24, republished by Decree-Law no. 65/2018, of August16 , opens a call for admission to the Masters courses of the Schools of P. PORTO in the academic year 2020/2021, as set out in annex I.

1. Schedule of actions to be developed The deadlines for the different actions to be carried out within this call are set out in Annex II.

2. Courses / places for which applications are admitted Applications are accepted for Master's courses according to the places set out in Annex I

3. Admission conditions 3.1 Enabled applicants to the study cycle leading to a Masters degree are:

a) Holders of a “licenciado” degree or legal equivalent. b) Holders of a foreign academic degree awarded after obtaining a 1st study cycle organized according to the principles of the by a State that has adhered to that Process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the requirements of the degree of “licenciado” by the Technical-Scientific Council of the School to which the student is applying; d) Holders of a academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Technical- Scientific Council of the School to which the student is applying as proof of the capacity to complete this study cycle.

3.2. The recognition mentioned in points b) to d) of the previous paragraph only grants access to the Masters degree study cycle. It does not award the holder equivalence to the degree of “licenciado” nor the recognition of that degree.

4. Specific entry requirement 4.1 During the 1st and 2nd phase of applications, the conditional admission of the final year students of undergraduate courses is accepted. These applicants must, without fail, show proof of completion of the degree until the last day of enrolment set for each phase of the competition. Students who do not prove the completion of the degree by the fixed date, will lose the right to the place, and will be able to apply in the next phase if they wish to do so.

4.2. For the purposes of the previous paragraph, applicants must submit in the online application process, the history of the approved curricular units, the classification obtained in each curricular unit, and current average classification for the purposes of selection and ranking.

5. Information regarding the appraisal of application processes 5.1. The application is made online at www.ipp.pt/acesso/mestrados , within the deadlines set in Annex II. The application process is submitted by:

a) Filling in the online application form; b) Uploading the following documentation to the online system: MOD005.v03

ISCAP (i) Identification document, which unequivocally proves the applicant's nationality, and proof of the tax identification number (foreign applicants must, when applicable, also upload a document proving that they are not classified as an "international student", under the terms defined in article 3 of Decree-Law no. 36/2014, of 10 March, in its current wording , under penalty of application of said statute); (ii) Document proving academic qualification of the applicant(mandatory); (iii) Letter of motivation for attending the course; (iv) Professional and academic curriculum of the applicant/, which must separately mention the data bellow in the following order: ▪Academic qualifications: academic degrees, classifications, date and institution in which they were issued and, if possible, with their respective syllabus when the degree has not been obtained at (School o which the student is applying); ▪Professional experience: description of functions and indication of the institutions where the professional activity was carried out; ▪Other training related to continuous training courses or certified courses; ▪Participation in the elaboration, operationalization or monitoring of projects or programs in areas of interest to . ▪Publications/artistic activity, papers and presentations in seminars and conferences; (v) Proof of non-prescription of enrolment in higher education (only applicable to students enrolled in the academic year 2019/2020 in a public higher education institution that is not part of P.PORTO); (vi) Other documents that the candidate deems relevant for appraisal of the application; c) Payment of the application fee in the amount of 60 € (sixty euros), in the “Multibanco” ATM network - payment of services, using the “Multibanco” ATM reference generated in the online system. Applicants who are unable to pay the application fee using the “Multibanco” ATM network - payment for services, will be allowed to do it in cash at the School's academic area service or, in the case of being foreign applicants, by bank transfer to the IBAN indicated in the online system.

5.2. When analysing the applicant's professional and academic curriculum, only proved references will be considered, and the jury can ask for additional documents to clarify any doubts.

5.3. The lack of any mandatory document will exclude the application.

5.4. Failure to submit any other documents will result in the respective information not being considered when applying the ranking criteria, which may affect the application.

5.5. P.PORTO students will be able to provide proof of the qualification with which they apply by means of a document obtained in the student management system.

6. Selection and Ranking 6.1. The selection and ranking of applicants is carried out by a Jury appointed by the School Dean.

6.2. The selection and ranking criteria are set out in Annex III.

6.3. The formula for calculating the final classification and the weighting factors are shown in Annex III.

6.4. The ranking of applications will be made in decreasing order of the final classification, on a numerical scale from 0 to 20 values rounded to the tenth.

If the number of candidates is less than the number of places available, all candidates who meet the access conditions defined in paragraphs 3 and 4 will be placed in alphabetical order.

7. Rejection 7.1 Applications that are in one of the following situations shall be rejected:

a) Failure to comply with the terms and deadlines set out in this notice; b) Failure to pay the fee in the period set for the application;

c) Applications by candidates with irregular tuition situation, or with any other amount owed to P.PORTO, regardless of their nature. 7.2. In case of rejection, applicants will be notified electronically and by the online system.

8. Exclusion of applicants 8.1. Applicants will be excluded from the application process at any time: at any time in case of:

a) Not submitting all the mandatory documents mentioned in paragraph 5.1; b) Making false statements; c) Not meeting the conditions of access and admission; d) Having a prescribed enrolment in higher education.

8.2. All acts resulting from false declarations, including enrolment and registration, are considered null.

8.3. In case of exclusion, applicants will be notified electronically and by the online system.

9. Publication of Results 9.1. The results of the call will be announced through the results notice published at www.ipp.pt/acesso/mestrados on the CANDIDATURAS hyperlink, and, once logged in, in the tab .

9.2. The decisions of the jury on the selection of applicants are not subject to a complaint, except when they are accused of a formal mistake, in which case a substantiated complaint can be presented to the Dean of each School at www.ipp.pt/acesso/mestrados , within the deadlines set in annex II.

10. Information and clarifications

Applicants can obtain information and clarifications from the services of the academic area of each School. The opening hours and contact details are available on the website of each School.

11. Enrolment | Registration, Fees, and tuition 11.1. The enrolment and registration of the placed applicants must be made within the deadlines set out in Annex II, at domus.ipp.pt .

11.2. The enrolment is subject to the payment of the registration fee, school insurance, and annual tuition fee, as established in the table of fees in force, and according to the Deliberation of the General Council. Tuition fees are available at www.ipp.pt , under the Teaching tab → Tuition fees.

11.3. In the event that any placed applicant expressly withdraws from enrolment and registration (or does not carry out said procedures), the services of the School's academic area, will electronically summon the non- placed applicant(s) in a descending order of classification until all places are filled or the list of applicants is over. These applicants will have a period of four working days after being notified to proceed with enrolment and registration.

11.4. In cases that the course does not open, as it does not reach the minimum number of enrolled students, the amounts paid as an enrolment fee, insurance and tuition referred to in paragraph 11.2 will be returned.

12. Information regarding the processing of late application requests

After all the phases of the competition have been concluded, applications may be accepted after the deadline, by means of a duly substantiated request submitted to the services of the academic area of the School, provided that conditions of integration exist, namely the existence of vacant places in the intended course.

12.2. The late application process is shall include the documents listed in paragraph 5.1 (b).

12.3. In case of approval, the application after the deadline is subject to the payment of the fee set out in point c) of paragraph 5.1 plus the fee for the administrative act after the deadline. Payment should be made at the School's academic area.

12.4. The amount of the fee for the administrative after the deadline will be calculated according to the date of submission of the application, mentioned in paragraph 12.1.
