SURFSIDE sprinted clear soon after the start, set the pace in hand while racing slightly off the rail, maintained a clear advantage to the top of the stretch, relinquished the lead to the winner in upper stretch then continued on well while drifting out in the late stages to clearly best the others. HERITAGE OF GOLD allowed to settled early, dropped back after going a half, raced well back while saving ground on the turn then closed late along the inside to gain a share. CRIMPLENE (IRE) was bumped slightly at the start, checked in tight while rank in the early stages, raced just off the pace for a half, was in traffic while between horses midway on the turn, lodged a mild rally to threaten approaching the quarter pole but couldn't sustain her rally. LU RAVI trailed for a half after being pinched back at the start, raced well back while saving ground to the turn, closed the gap in upper stretch but couldn't sustain her bid. BEAUTIFUL PLEASURE stalked the early pace from outside, raced just behind the leader while three wide to the turn, drifted out at the top of the stretch and steadily tired thereafter. RIBOLETTA (BRZ) settled in the middle of the pack while four wide for five furlongs, raced within striking distance to the turn and lacked the needed response when called upon. SPEAKING OF TIME raced well back for six furlongs, swung wide in upper stretch then failed to mount a serious rally. JOSTLE broke inward causing crowding at the start, failed to threaten while racing wide throughout. Copyright 2009 Equibase Company LLC. All Rights Reserved..

  • Stallion Synopsis: Irish Surf Prepared By: Alan Porter
STALLION SYNOPSIS: IRISH SURF PREPARED BY: ALAN PORTER PREPARED FOR: THOR-BRED STABLES Pedigree Consultants are able to help you in all facets of your thoroughbred investment. Not only are we able to proven mating advice but we are also able to advise on mare selection, management and promotion of stallions, and selection and purchase of racing and breeding stock. For more information on the services visit www.pedigreeconsultants.com, email [email protected] or call +1 541 590 3303 or +1 516 528 6559. IRISH SURF A track-record breaking graded stakes winner, Irish Surf is by three-time Leading Sire, Giant’s Causeway. The outstanding son of Storm Cat, both as a racehorse and sire, Giant’s Causeway is now a major sire of sires, with eight of his sons having sired grade one winners. Irish Surf’s dam, Champion Three-Year-Old Filly Surfside, is by Seattle Slew out of Champion Two-Year- Old Filly Flanders, and is three-quarters sister to grade one sire Flanders Fields. The cross of Giant's Causeway and sons with Mr. Prospector line mares has been a tremendously successful one, with more than 150 stakes winners. Irish Surf’s second dam is a Champion by Mr. Prospector son, Seeking the Gold, and as Giant’s Causeway sired Champion Two-year-old Filly Take Charge Brandi out of a mare by Seeking the Gold, duplicating that strain is worth considering. Sources of Seeking the Gold that particularly appeal are Mutakddim and Cape Town (both reverse crosses to Surfside). There are seven stakes winners, two grade one, by Giant’s Causeway out mares by Kingmambo, and there are also four stakes winners, one grade one out of mares by Kingmambo son, Lemon Drop Kid, a reverse cross to Surfside.
