TASK PARKS & RECREATION SPECIALIST PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PERCENTAGES Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public These positions are responsible for a combination of outdoor maintenance and/or Customer service and cash handling experience groundskeeping work in addition to providing customer service for property visitors and/or campers. Parks and Recreation Specialists often operate Knowledge, skills and experience of general maintenance operation machinery such as UTV's, ATV's, chainsaws, snowmobiles, hand tools, power Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual tools, mowers, tractors and other motorized vehicles. Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc. 30% Direct and perform the maintenance of grounds and facilities to ensure they conform to established standards to include mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beaches, painting, maintaining restrooms and campsites, remove trees and brush, repair and maintain trail surfaces, operate vehicles and light equipment and perform repairs and maintenance to equipment and buildings. 30% Direct other team members and assist in the collection of fees and dissemination of information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems. Register campers; sell admission stickers to public. Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park or geographic area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability. Provide information to the public when working across the district on fishery and wildlife properties 20% Explain State Property rules, regulations and fees to visitors and help with special events. Manage properties and their facilities to protect public health and safety. 15% Manage the administration of admission sticker sales and other fee charges to efficiently maximize revenues. Assign, audit and process sticker accounts to ensure control of such accounts as well as prompt remittances. 5% Assist the Recreation Specialist, Ranger, Park Manager and/or Property Superintendent with monitoring the work and performance of other team members or volunteers and any other duties as assigned.

TASK VISITOR SERVICES ASSOCIATE PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PERCENTAGES Are responsible for greeting park visitors, selling vehicle admission stickers, Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public registering campers, fielding questions about the park or property and recreation Customer service and cash handling experience opportunities, along with a variety of other administrative and financial duties. Knowledge and experience working with computers Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc. 50% Greet visitors, collect and account for fees and disseminate information. Work at entrance stations, campgrounds or other visitor contact stations. Use electronic cash registers, electronic credit card verification equipment and computerized reservation and reporting systems.

25% Provide answers to visitor questions concerning the specific park area, as well as explain the area's recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concessions and campground availability. 10% Issue admission receipts in accordance with established guidelines. 15% Distribute brochures, maps and provide directions/routes of travel throughout the park; inform visitors of potential safety hazards.

TASK FACILITIES REPAIR WORKER (ENTRY AND ADVANCED) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PERCENTAGES These positions perform a combination of general maintenance and repair work Knowledge, skills and experience with general maintenance operations to various building types and equipment, including but not limited to park Building and/or facility repair or maintenance experience buildings, electrical, plumbing, power tools and vehicles. Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc. 50% Perform facility improvement projects by repairing windows, doors, screens, and walls. Perform minor repairs to water, electrical and heating systems. 15% Operate and maintain equipment. 15% Fill and grade park roads, patch blacktop and maintain culverts and shoulders. 20% Mow grass, pick up litter, clean public use areas and beaches. Haul garbage. Paint buildings, grills and picnic tables. Maintain restrooms, campfire rings and picnic grills. Remove trees and brush.

TASK LABORERS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PERCENTAGES

These positions are responsible for providing maintenance support throughout Knowledge, skills and experience with general maintenance operations the property. This involves working outdoors and includes the inspection, cleaning and groundskeeping of buildings, facilities, campgrounds, day-use, and Building and/or groundskeeping repair or maintenance experience picnic areas throughout the property. Laborers often operate machinery such as Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual UTV's, ATV's, chainsaws, snowmobiles, hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc. and other motorized vehicles. 45% Mow grass. Pick up litter. Clean beach areas, restrooms, campfire rings and picnic grills. Remove trees and brush. 25% Perform general maintenance duties. Develop and maintain trail surfaces. Install signs. Haul garbage, paint grills and picnic tables. 15% Operate vehicles and light equipment. 15% Perform minor plumbing and electrical duties. TASK ASSISTANT NATURALIST GUIDE PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PERCENTAGES These positions conduct interpretive and education programs to interpret Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public property natural and cultural resources, teach outdoor skills, and encourage Vast knowledge of Wisconsin’s Natural Resources including the state’s recreation resource stewardship. Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc. 30% Conduct property interpretive and environmental education programs for users. 30% Conduct nature hikes and programs to educate users on the property’s natural features, flora, fauna, wildlife and environmental issues. 10% Establish and improve slide programs, visuals hands-on displays. 15% Develop and prepare exhibits that highlight the property and participate in public relations programs. 15% Develop and/or assist in developing education/naturalist programs for the property, prepare information about the natural and human history and may assist in conducting teacher-training classes

TASK NATURAL RESOURCES EDUCATOR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS PERCENTAGES These positions provide on-site educational programs and activities to organized Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public school, social, and other groups as well as the general public visiting the Vast knowledge of Wisconsin’s Natural Resources including the state’s recreation property. This includes developing and distributing publications, signage and opportunities, environment and wildlife other materials. In addition this position will assist with outreach, promotion, and Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and punctual public relations for the property. Ability to work a modified schedule; nights, weekends, holidays, etc. 55% Under direction of the property manager, provide on-site educational programs and activities to organized school, social, and other groups as well as the general public visiting the property. Perform necessary clerical, custodial, and administrative functions to support education programs and other functional efforts of the park. 30% Development, distribute, and place publications, signage, and other materials to facilitate nonpersonal interpretive activities at the property. Work with other staff to develop, place, and monitor signage for hiking and interpretive trails, static display areas, ponds, arboretums, and other education points at the property. 15% Assist with outreach, promotion, and public relations for the property. Assist property manager and park staff in the development and hosting of special events.
