Plus qu’un divertissent, c’est un média dans lequel on peut voir des discours de valeurs et d’idées et un agent d’imposition de plusieurs normes sexuelles (Mason-Grant, 2004). En s’appropriant ce média, les communautés de barebackers, prônant une idéologie de sexe non protégé entre hommes, transforment les normes sexuelles des communautés gays et véhiculent leurs discours. Étudier la pornographie bareback, comme véhicule du discours c’est tenter de les comprendre. Introduction Cet article est monté en deux volets. Premièrement, je me dois d'expliquer brièvement ce qu'est le barebacking, le contexte et les raisons de son émergence, principalement en me référant à Crossley (2001, 2004) et à Rofes (1998). Le second volet est plus une analyse de la pornographie gay bareback. Je vais y présenter quelques thèmes récurrents et ce que ces derniers nous enseignent sur les motivations et le discours des barebackers. Ces thèmes sont inspirés de mes travaux sur les forums et blogues de barebackers et le résultat de longues observations et analyse de la pornographie gay. Effectivement, pour écrire cette présentation, j'ai visionné de la pornographie : ceci comprend un corpus de plus de 60 longs- ou courts-métrages pornographiques et une quantité incalculable de petits vidéos en ligne.     SIX PROPOSITIONS ON THE SONICS OF PORNOGRAPHY Sharif Mowlabocus – University of Sussex Andy Medhurst – University of Sussex Abstract Pornography (and all its contentious pleasures, contested politics and attendant problematics) is enjoying a fresh wave of academic attention (See, inter alia, Nikunen et al., 2007, Hall & Bishop, 2007, Magnet, 2007, Attwood, 2010). The overwhelming majority of these studies, however, focus on the visual discourses of sexually explicit material. This risks the sonic dimensions of pornography being overlooked entirely. Yet porn is anything but silent. This speculative article maps out some of the ways in which the sounds of pornography (and the pornography of sound) might be approached in the analytical context of gay male culture. Not only do the texts of porn contain assorted sounds (dialogue, soundtracks, non-verbal noises of participation, background and accidental audio), they also seek to prompt sounds (not least the non-verbal noises pornography seeks to elicit during the moments of its consumption) and sometimes depend on sound alone (telephone lines that allow access to recorded narratives or ‘live’ chat). Pornography speaks in particular accents, it mobilises particular music, it dances to particular tunes, and it relies on the pants we hear as much as the pants we see. If queer cultures have their own distinctive worlds of sound, then the sonic armouries of porn play a prominent role within them. Keywords: Pornography; sound; voice; gay men; music; sonic. Through a business research of Men of Montreal, the thesis dissects an online porn business and describes the influence the Internet has had on the gay porn industry as a whole. The three main chapters focus on the three stages of the online gay porn industry: production, distribution and consumption and how all the three stages are deeply affected by the Internet as a medium. In general, the Internet has amalgamated the different production studios into an entertainment network that funnels online distribution into an organization of affiliates, thereby creating a diverse and global scale culture of consumption.
