I use it all the time for burning Cds and Dvds, BUT I honestly dont know if its very good at burning blurays. But you can try. Its available in LInuxMints Software Manager. K3b is often praised by experienced forummembers. Its quite a hassle sometimes to get it installed correctly, but it has tons of options. And it will burn blurays successfully.K3b is often praised by experienced forummembers. But be aware that it will pull in a LOT of KDE dependencies in order to work.But later I moved to Brasero because I saw that he did a checksum check. I can not understand if even Xfburn does this, in the options I find nothing, you know if maybe this checksum checks the writing automatically and without telling the user By checksum check I mean write control. Below is perhaps a solution, while using Xfburn The underlying libisofs offers MD5 for the whole ISO filesystem and for each data file, if desired. Nevertheless, optical media have their own checksumming of blocks or larger chunks, which is nearly as good as checksums for the data payload. You just have to make sure not to read into unchartered waters at the end of the medium.I would be happy to advise any new developer of Xfburn. Probably for the better as pretty much Ubuntus wiki appears to suggest regarding for Bluray burning per se.I have seen it in use in the 1990s, when CD burning was still a breath taking adventure. Replacing wodim by cdrecord and genisoimage by mkisofs will not do harm. But it will hardly get you better DVD or BD handling with K3B, which normally uses growisofs for DVD and BD, or Brasero, which uses either growisofs or libburn. Xfburn uses libburn and libisofs fixely. So cdrecord or mkisofs will not influence its successes or failures. It is true that cdrecord has better capabilities about DVD and BD than wodim has. But that is really not a difficult goal to achieve, as wodim was composed from a CDonly version of cdrecord and a quite poor DVDenabling hack named dvdrecord. So i would not advise cdrecord as backend for DVD and BD.But not to forget The initial problem of this thread is something inside Brasero, not in the backends. So the only remedy for Brasero would be if it gets developer attention. As with Xfburn, i could give advise about burning and ISO 9660 production. Have a nice day Thomas. Description of problem. I burned some files to DVD using brasero, and the burn progressed at about 1x speed. I burned a second disk with gnomebaker, and it burned at the expected 16x. In same scenarios yes, wodim works, but it is still an old fork which is not maintained. That seems to be the only way this bug will ever. Debian is on course to drop wodim and include genuine cdrtools, Ubuntu will follow, so lets hope Fedora developers will follow them tooIm using an LG GSAT10N DVD burner. Brasero burn extremely slow 2x or under and checksum of burn fails saying You do not have the required permissions to use this drive. Burned data is always fine, but is extremely slowly and checksum fail.Brasero burn very slow under Fedora 10 too, under Fedora 10 nautiluscdburner burn as expected.

Relying on the excellent upstream work by Linux and the open-source community, we deploy Xfce 4.12 as Desktop Environment on top of a Debian Stable base, drawing from the core antiX system. Ongoing backports and outside additions to our Repos serve to keep components current with developments.
