Next is the recent Top Tenner for Shanice, "SAVING FOREVER FOR YOU" from the 'Beverly Hills 90210' soundtrack... another big hit written by one of the hottest writers in the business, DIANE WARREN. We caught up with her the other day, in­ between recording sessions.... and she told us the history behind this one. It all began with a call from the President of Giant Records: DIANE WARREN ACTUALITY: (:37) "Irving Azoff called me, he was doing the '9021 0 Soundtrack' and told me he needed a duet and I said, I literally got out of the studio like that day with "SAVING FOREVER FOR YOU". He had the producer of the show in his office. I said, well listen on the phone, this is probably what you guys need and the both flipped out. I said well I'm sending it right over, you know, and first it was going to be a duet with Tevin Campbell and Shanice, and I guess Tevin had another commitment so it just became Shanice. David Foster produced it, he did a wonderful job and she did a wonderful job. Talk about bringing a song to life, she's a wonderful singer, Shanice." 2. It took this guy a few years, but he's become a pretty popular TV star. First, we saw him as a little guy on "Gimme A Break", and now ya might say he's 'blossomed.' Joey Russo from "Blossom" -- really actor and singer Joey Lawrence -- has his first hit. Joey's really excited and he told us all about it: JOEY LAWRENCE ACTUALITY: (:28) That was the first song that we wrote for the album, which is sort of cool. It's just been unbelievable, I mean, to see it go from a piece of paper, to the studio, to now, out and it's just unbelievable. It was inspired by the fact that I think with love, which, it incorporates honesty, loyalty, understanding, you'll do anything for that person and therefore, there's nothing that love can't fix." 3. Next is the latest hit for WHITNEY HOUSTON. We had a chance to talk to someone who's known her a very long time -- privately and professionally -- her cousin and a great singer in her own right, DIONNE WARWICK. And Dionne told us what Whitney was like as a kid: DIONNE WARWICK ACTUALITY: (:33) "Whitney is still a kid. She is agressive, very tomboyish. She is a good kid, good girl, you know, it was a family affair where everyone sang so it was a natural occurence whenever she opened her mouth to let a note or two fly out of it.
