SEATS MUST BE RESERVED FOR FUTURE UM CONCERTS
MISSOULA--
The University of Montana has announced a policy of reserved-seating only for
concerts in the Harry Adams Fieldhouse and the University Center Ballroom.
The first concerts affected by the major policy change will be the Willie
Nelson and Kris Kristofferson performance in the fieldhouse on Feb. 7 and the Muddy
Waters concert in the UC Ballroom on Feb. 13.
For these and other future concerts, sufficient doors in the the fieldhouse
or ballroom will open promptly one hour before showtime. Extra security officers
and ushers will be hired for all future engagements.
UM officials said the policy was adopted after a review of concert activities
on the campus during the 1970s and in light of the recent tragedy in Cincinnati in
which 11 young people lost their lives at a concert.
The new policy was announced by Gary Hughes, manager, Adams Fieldhouse; Ray
Chapman, director, UC; Ken Willett, chief, Campus Security/Safety and Gary Bogue,
manager, Programming Office.
