FORMER BLUE JACKETS PLAYERS JARED BOLL, FEDOR TYUTIN JOIN CLUB’S HOCKEY OPERATIONS STAFF Boll named assistant development coach, while Tyutin joins club’s scouting staff

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Former forward Jared Boll has joined the club as an assistant development coach and former defenseman Fedor Tyutin will serve as a member of the club’s scouting staff, General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Boll, who spent the past two seasons with the , retired following the 2017-18 campaign having registered 28 goals and 38 assists for 66 points with 1,298 minutes in 579 games during his 11-year NHL career. The 32- year-old spent nine seasons in Columbus, tallying 27-35-62 and 1,195 penalty minutes in 518 games from 2007-16. He is the club’s all-time leader in penalty minutes and ranks fourth in games played.

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina and raised in Crystal Lake, Illinois, Boll was selected by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round, 101st overall, at the 2005 NHL Draft. After spending two seasons with the ’s from 2005-07, he made his NHL debut the following season and notched 5-5-10 and a career-high 226 penalty minutes in 75 games with the Jackets. He set a career high in points with 4-10-14 in 75 games in 2008-09 and scored a career-best seven goals and added five assists for 12 points in 73 contests in 2010-11.

Tyutin, 35, amassed 55-209-264 and 548 penalty minutes in 872 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, and from 2003-17. He spent eight seasons with the Jackets from 2008-16, collecting 39- 146-185 and 351 penalty minutes in 553 games. Among defensemen, he ranks first in games played, goals and points and is second in assists and penalty minutes in Blue Jackets history. His 553 games rank second on the club’s all-time list, trailing only Rick Nash’s 674 games.

Selected by the Rangers in the second round, 40th overall, at the 2001 NHL Draft, Tyutin was acquired by Columbus in a trade prior to the 2008-09 season. He posted back-to-back 30- campaigns with a career-high 9-25-34 in 82 games in 2008-09 and 6-26-32 in 80 outings in 2009-10. A native of Izhevsk, Russia, he represented his country in numerous international competitions, including the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games. He also captured gold medals at the 2008 IIHF World Championships and 2002 and 2003 IIHF World Junior Championships.

Columbus opens preseason play tonight, hosting the Buffalo Sabres at Nationwide Arena. The game is set for a 7 p.m. ET start and will be streamed live BlueJackets.com and on the FOX Sports app with radio coverage on 1460 ESPN Radio.
