im in you mind fuzz download I'm in Your Mind Fuzz. Arriving just eight months after the amiable Aussie psych-rockers' Oddments LP, I'm in Your Mind Fuzz finds King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard doing what they do best: Simultaneously assembling and dissembling semi-epic blasts of early Flaming Lips, 13th Floor Elevators, the High Strung, Thee Oh Sees, and Dungen-esque space/psych rock and having a great time while doing so. Opener "I'm in Your Mind" is a churning, Krautrock- inspired, largely stream of consciousness-driven road anthem that takes up the first half of the album (the ensuing "I'm Not in your Mind," "Cellophane," and "I'm in Your Mind Fuzz" are mere mile markers), and it serves as an excellent litmus test for listeners wondering how far into the fuzzy, fidelity-challenged, multi-colored waters they're willing to wade. The back half of the record is a tad more diverse, with highlights arriving via the loopy, beatnik-blasted "Hot Water," the epic pop posturing of "Her and I (Slow Jam 2)," and the fractured "Satan Speed Up," the latter of which sounds like a lo-fi amalgamation of Led Zeppelin's "The Rain Song" and anything off of MGMT's Congratulations. The band's overall distaste for sound quality will probably put some listeners off, as much of the record sounds like it was recorded in real time on an old Tascam four-track in somebody's basement, but King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard possess enough pop acumen and oddball charm to lure even the most unsuspecting psych-rock fan downstairs for a taste. Whether or not they'll stay for dinner is open for debate. I'm in Your Mind Fuzz. Oh yes. It's them. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are one of the most fascinating and brilliant bands around these days. These dudes have a bunch of spanning a bunch of different styles and just about all of their records are good. This is the record that kicked off their signature "sound", featuring psychedelic lyrics, fuzzy production, jammy musical runs, killer dual drums with rhythmic fun and games abound, and influences from anything and everything. The albums they did before this one were fun, but I'm in Your Mind Fuzz is the first really good one, and it's where they really started sounding like their later material. This is also one of my favorite records from them as this whole thing as a complete listen is surprisingly strong. There's a uniform vibe going on here, not much unlike the psychedelic, fuzz-soaked acid rock from the late 60s and the 70s. The album is produced with a warm, rich, lo-fi sound which gives everything a signature sheen, or a reverse-sheen, if you will. An anti-sheen. It's dirty, it's gritty, and it gives the music some extra bite. They use this production style a lot on subsequent albums, but it honestly truly shines here. The musical content varies between slower, more grooving jams like the aptly named "Slow Jam 1" and "Slow Jam 2" as well as "Satan Speeds Up" and more upbeat, aggressive jams like the introductory four song suite and "Am I in Heaven?". Both vibes are equally strong here. The more energetic material has a constant, forceful feel thanks to the driving dual drums and ever-thumping bass and the unique but sonically rich combo of triple guitars and harmonica. The slower material features a low-slung, grooving swagger to it that gives off a 60s surf rock feel married to acidic, drippy psych rock. It's all done with style, it's all done with creativity, and it's all really musically dense without sacrificing palatability which makes for really quite a lovely listen. It's engaging but catchy all the way through. Highlights. My favorite here is "Am I in Heaven?" with its gorgeous and borderline silly, singalong intro and those thunderous hecking verses, not to mention that bizarre and jarring but ever so entrancing chorus. This is one of my all-time favorite Gizz songs, and you should go blast it for your family right now. The first four tracks are a complete blast, too, with lots of intertwining musical themes and cool little harmonica and flute parts and great, psychedelic riffery. I! Love! "Slow Jam 1" and "Satan Speeds Up" because of their combo of badass rhythmic groove and mysterious yet relaxing atmosphere. Honestly favorites will vary, but that's the fun of this record. It's a big, diverse bag of fun that's not just some rough compilation of sparse songs, it all fits together nicely and makes for a great album. I'm in Your Mind Fuzz is, to me, the "classic" King Gizzard record. This is where they started sounding like my favorite band, and it's when they became really truly special. It even just sort of sounds old. After this they'd start experimenting a lot more and they'd make some insanely good albums, but don't forget this one. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of "Empty", which is the only one I skip, but other than that, every song here is great. Loads of fun stuff lives on this record, and I happily recommend it to fans of psychedelic, jammy rock and to newcomers to this band. IsraBox - Music is Life! There was something yesterday when I heard “Cellophane” that made me think about this band, and how it’s been sitting for months, waiting to be shared here, It’s a downer really my neglect . And so here they are, Melbourne’s King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard . Prolific and overtly eclectic, marginally in surf tune and constantly on psych edge, even while they play hopelessly catchy punk. Think Ty Segall and UMO melded into mid tempo Aussie punk and you’ll be surfing on their waves. If by some glitch in the universe or some vast cosmic injustice you haven’t experienced listen to them , then I urge you to drop what you are doing, and spend the next time flying through the efforts of these seven awesome musicians until arrive the most creative point in their lives,”I’m In Your Mind Fuzz” . Absolutely mandatory.
