Jazz Ensemble Volume 30 Jazz Ensemble Volume 30 Kendor · Doug Beach Program Guide Volume 30 Program Guide Jazz Ensemble highlighting 48 new and classic charts from Kendor and Doug Beach! go to kendormusic.com for: • free recordings • complete viewable scores • detailed descriptions • free PDF chapter from The Jazz Educator’s Handbook by Jeff Jarvis & Doug Beach • comprehensive dealer directory This year we’ve gone all digital and “green” by not including CD’s in this Program Guide. Instead, recordings of the charts listed inside can be heard (and downloaded for free!) by visiting our website. Once there, you’ll find that our commitment to publishing the finest charts for players at all levels remains unchanged. CD’s are only available while supplies last. Please email your re - quest to [email protected]. This is the second year we’re featuring Encore Editions in our demo program. Knowing that many educators today rely on recordings for instruction, we’re recording these great classics that never appeared on a previous demo program (charts from the 1960’s and 1970’s by Thad Jones and Sammy Nestico, etc.) or were promoted before we produced full-length recordings. Finally, the brass ranges given for our recorded charts are based on this octave- numbering system in treble clef: octave 4 • middle C to third-line B octave 5 • third-space C to B above the staff octave 6 • C above the staff and up Kendor Music, Inc. LUCIA CADOTSCH „SPEAK LOW“ (ECHO JAZZ 2017 "singer of the year") artist name LUCIA CADOTSCH album titel SPEAK LOW label enja/yellowbird records US distribution Naxos homepage www.luciacadotsch.com LUCIA CADOTSCH (CH) voice OTIS SANDSJÖ (SE) tenor saxophone PETTER ELDH (SE) double bass Echo Prize-Winning Jazz Singer Lucia Cadotsch made her U.S. Debut at the NYC Winter Jazzfest in January 2018 with her Berlin-based “Speak Low” trio featuring saxophonist Otis Sandsjö and bassist Petter Eldh. They're performing music from their debut album, „Speak Low“, which earned five-star raves in both DownBeat and The Guardian along with glowing reviews for its companion remix album, „Speak Low Renditions“. “When Cadotsch sings standards with her kindred-spirit trio mates, Sandsjö on tenor saxophone and Eldh on double-bass, songs from a half-century ago feel renewed, as timeless art is refracted through a modernist prism. With no harmony instrument and the uncanny blend of these three performers – the cool precision of the vocalist, the free-jazz edge of the instrumentalists – such songs as ‘Willow Weep for Me’ and ‘Moon River’ have fresh textural and emotional resonance.” — DownBeat With a sharp-eared love of the past but a sensibility resolutely of the present, new-era jazz singer Lucia Cadotsch’s trio “Speak Low” – featuring tenor saxophonist Otis Sandsjö and double-bassist Petter Eldh – reanimates songs long seemingly set in amber. Hailing from their adopted home of Berlin, Germany – the 21st-century culture capital of Europe – these three musicians come at the Great American Songbook from a European angle, their “retro-futurist” sound as informed by remix culture and free jazz as by their appreciation for classic vocal records.

west coast music Encore Please find attached the Encore Band song list for your review. SPECIAL DANCES for Weddings: Please note that we will need to have your special dance requests, (I.E. First Dance, F/D Dance, etc) FOUR WEEKS prior to your event so that we can confirm the band will be able to perform the song(s) and so that we have time to locate sheet music and audio of the song(s). In some cases where sheet music is not available or an arrangement for the full band is needed, this gives us time to properly prepare the music. Clients are not obligated to submit a list of general song requests. Many of our clients ask that the band just react to whatever their guests are responding to on the dance floor. Our clients that do provide us with song requests do so in varying degrees. Most clients give us a handful of songs they want played and/or avoided. If you desire the highest degree of control (asking the band to only play within the margin of songs requested), we would ask for a minimum 80 requests from the band’s songlist. Please feel free to call us at the office should you have any questions. – West Coast Music SONGLIST: At Last – Etta James 1,2,3,4 – Plain White T’s Baby Got Back – Sir Mix A Lot 24K Magic – Bruno Mars Back at One – Boyz II Men A Thousand Years – Christina Bad Day – Daniel Powter Perri Ballad Of John & Yoko Ain’t too Proud to Beg – Bamboleo – Gipsy Kings Temptations Bang my Head – David Guetta/Sia Adventure of a Lifetime – Beast of Burden – Rolling Stones Coldplay Beautiful Day – U2 After All – Peter Cetera/Cher
