This tense, foreboding film is directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. Friday, January 28, offers a double feature of Victim at 7:30 P.M. and The Leather Boys at 9:00 P.M. In Victim, directed by Basil Dearden, a lawyer risks his reputation by confronting a gang of blackmailers who murdered his one-time male lover. Dirk Bogarde, Sylvia Sims, Dennis Price, and Peter'McEnery star. Leather Boys delves into a perverse triangle of lonely young people in the black-leather motor cycle set in London; directed by Sidney J. Furie. Robert Aldrich's film The Killing of Sister George will be shown January 29. Beryl Reid, Susannah York, and Coral Brown star in this story of an aging soap opera star, written out of her series, who loses her roommate-lover to a network executive. In The Children's Hour, an absorbing version of Lillian Hellman's provocative play, two school teachers are accused of lesbianism: directed by William Wyler with Audrey Hepburn, Shirley MacLaine, James Garner, Miriam Hopkins, Fay Bainter. The movie will be shown on April 25. Gary Cooper, Fredric March, Miriam Hopkins, Edward Everett Horton and Franklin Pangborn star in a bit of chic fluff about a struggling painter and an undiscovered playwright who share their self appointed protectoress. She loves them both constantly and lives with each alternately. Ernst Lubitsch directed. IN WHICH WE SERVE, May 16, concentrates on the thoughts of survivors of a ship sunk during the Battle of Crete in the early days of World War II. John Mills, Bernard Miles, Celia Johnson, Michael Wilding and Noel Coward star. Coward also wrote the score, the screenplay and co-directed with David Lean. Coward's version of 19th century Vienna provides a background for BITTER SWEET, a Jeanette MacDonald-Nelson Eddy romp. The Coward score contains such gems as "I'll See You Again," "Dear Little Cafe, 11 and 11Ziggenuer. 11 W. S. Van Dyke II directed this 1940 film showing May 23 . PRIVATE LIVES, May 27, is a stylish and sparkling adaptation of Coward's comedy about the bickering and snickering on a peculiar double date. This 1931 film stars Norma Shearer, Robert Montgomery, Una Merkel and Reginald Denney. Sidney Franklin directed. BRIEF ENCOUNTER ends the series May 28. Director David Lean poignantly captures the misery of two ordinary adults caught up in a hopeless affair. Celia Johnson is the Housewife and Trevor Howard is the middle aged Doctor.
