Become a Friend of FEZtivities The Sesostris FEZtivities is a top notch bi-monthly publication that keeps the Nobles of the Sesostris Shrine and their loved ones updated on coming events and celebrates, through pictures and articles, the successes and fun we have as a temple. This quality publication does not come without a cost. Roughly 50% of the cost to create, print, and mail this publication is covered by our advertisers. The rest comes out of our General Fund. To help us offset these expenses, we are asking Sesostris Nobles or ladies to become “Friends of the FEZtivities” by donating just $18 a year. That’s just $3 per issue. To donate, you can send a check to the Sesostris Shrine Of ce. In the memo portion of the check write “Friends of the FEZtivities.” Or, you can pay online through our website www.Sesostrisshrine.org. On the top header of the main page there is a link to Shrine Events/Dues Online. Once on that page, there is a link under popular items called FEZtivities. Clink on that link and follow the steps. It’s just that easy. Your donation will be recognized in the May-June 2021 issue of the FEZtivities. Please consider becoming one of the “Friends of the FEZtivities” today to ensure the continued publication of the FEZtivities into the future.

The Fez is the Badge of a Shriner, as the Lambskin Apron is the badge of a Mason. • The sequins represent the tears that a disabled or burned child sheds when in pain. • The color represents the blood a disabled or burned child sheds while undergoing treatment or surgery. • The black tassel; means we do not always save them. A few will not survive. The Fez should be worn with pleasure to yourself and honor to the Fraternity.

The Lambskin or white leather apron, is the badge of a Mason, and is the rst gift of Master to the Apprentice. The apron is worn by operators to preserve their garments from spot or stain; but we as speculative Masons use it for a more noble purpose. By the whiteness of the colour and the innocence of the animal from which it is obtained we are admonished to preserve that blameless purity of life and conduct, which will enable us to present ourselves before The Great Architect of the Universe, unstained by sin and unsullied by vice. age Sesostris tivities November/December 2020

How much better could the Shrine Widows have started the year in February 2020, than with a new meeting date, new lunch venue, new time and much enthusiasm. We had joined the Elbon group on the third Tuesday of the month for our lunch with our meeting following. The best part of the lunch was the fact that none of the widows had to prepare it! Due to a programming “goofah”, we were blessed with two amazing programs. Michaela Ahrens spoke to us about autism. One of the things we learned is that 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with autism today, whereas it was 1 in 85, ve years ago, and 1 in 125 ten years ago. The second guest speaker, Gaylene Bradley from the Care Consultants for the Aging, talked to us about aging, dementia, signs to watch for and warning signs. Illustrious Sir Dan Johnson was present and spoke about the new year projects, one of which was the circus. I did attend one of the evening performances and found the new company’s show to be very good and entertaining. Anyone who attended the circus either of the rst two days was lucky. It’s a shame they had to postpone the rest of the shows. The Shrine Widows donated 20 dozen cookies for the workers who get everything ready and keep it going. That’s the end of the story. As we all know, things changed quickly for each and every one of us, and all of America. We have had no more meetings or get-togethers since. A few of us did help out with pricing for the Shrine rummage sale. In some older news, we collected scarves, mittens, hats and gloves before Christmas and donated them to a worthwhile organization. Two of our gals also helped at the Shrine Golf Tournament last year. We hope to do more good in the future, but it has not worked well this year. Our hearts go out to all those who have had the virus, and those affected by it, those striving to keep things going in the best way possible. It has been a challenge with work, school, childcare and more. And many of us were shut in for way too long. But remember, this is America! Our people are tough and determined. We will win!!

May God Bless America!!! Jeanine Bryceson Shrine Widows President
