Membership in Phi Kappa Phi

Admission to the of Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter in accordance with the bylaws of both the chapter and the national Society. Both require superior scholarship and good character as criteria for membership.

Purpose

The primary objective of the national Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is the recognition and encouragement of superior scholarship in all academic disciplines. The Society is convinced that in State University recognizing and honoring those persons of good character who have Chapter 33 excelled in scholarship, in whatever field, it will stimulate others to strive for excellence. Moreover, the Society serves the interests of Founded 1923 the student capable of excellence by insistence that in order to acquire a chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, an institution provide the means and atmosphere conducive to academic excellence.

Literacy Bonanza

Students from the North Carolina State University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi will team with the non-profit organization El Centro Hispano to teach program participants how to utilize Induction Program tablets for educational purposes. The tablets will be used to enhance reading and writing literacy, health literacy, and Presiding digital literacy—“a Literacy Bonanza.” In the Adult Dr. David Shafer Education program, for example, students will be given a Chapter President vocabulary assignment that will require participants to conduct online searches and write an essay using Microsoft Word. Before joining IEI, she Concepcion Jimenez-Gonzalez Business Administration served as a Professor of Law and Government at the University James Jones Geospatial Information Science of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's School of Government. In Ankita Kalantri Computer Science 2004, then-N.C. Governor Mike Easley appointed Brown- Emily Kamuabo Liberal Studies Graham to the board of the North Carolina Rural Economic Colleen Kelly Agriculture & Extension Education Development Center. She also serves as a Trustee of the Vernishia Kilpatrick Social Work Z.
