A representative from Downey’s Burlington Store delivered the check to Principal Dolores Goble during a surprise assembly that took place on campus on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. The entire Gauldin staff, as well as students, were present to accept the check.

“We cannot thank these two organizations enough for this generous donation,” expressed Downey Unified Board of Education President, Bobbie Samperi. “We truly appreciate this partnership and welcome Burlington into our lovely city.”

This donation will provide $10,000 to purchase new supplies for all classrooms. According to Principal Goble, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items.

“On behalf of the Gauldin Elementary, I would like to thank Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for adopting our entire school,” said Goble. “Our teachers look forward to using the funds to enhance learning in our school and in their classrooms. We are so thankful for this donation.”
