  • 2021 SWB Railriders Media Guide
2021 swb railriders 2021 swb railriders triple-a information On February 12, 2021, Major League Baseball announced its new plan for affiliated baseball, with 120 Minor League clubs officially agreeing to join the new Professional Development League (PDL). In total, the new player development system includes 179 teams across 17 leagues in 43 states and four provinces. Including the AZL and GCL, there are 209 teams across 19 leagues in 44 states and four provinces. That includes the 150 teams in the PDL and AZL/GCL along with the four partner leagues: the American Association, Atlantic League, Frontier League and Pioneer League. The long-time Triple-A structure of the International and Pacific Coast Leagues have been replaced by Triple-A East and Triple-A West. Triple-A East consists on 20 teams; all 14 from the International League, plus teams moving from the Pacific Coast League, the Southern League and the independent Atlantic League. Triple-A West is comprised of nine Pacific Coast League teams and one addition from the Atlantic League. These changes were made to help reduce travel and allow Major League teams to have their affiliates, in most cases, within 200 miles of the parent club (or play at their Spring Training facilities). triple-a clubs & affiliates midwest northeast southeast e Columbus (Cleveland Indians) Buffalo (Toronto Blue Jays) Charlotte (Chicago White Sox) Indianapolis (Pittsburgh Pirates) Lehigh Valley (Philadelphia Phillies) Durham (Tampa Bay Rays) a Iowa (Chicago Cubs) Rochester (Washington Nationals) Gwinnett (Atlanta Braves) s Louisville (Cincinnati Reds) Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre (New York Yankees) Jacksonville (Miami Marlins) Omaha (Kansas City Royals) Syracuse (New York Mets) Memphis (St.

  • NCBWA Newsletter
NATIONAL COLLEGIATE BASEBALL WRITERS NEWSLETTER (Volume 43, No. 1, Feb. 10, 2004) NCBWA President’s Message By NCBWA President Jeff Hurd It may be a little cold and snowy from where you are reading this, but please be assured that the 2004 college baseball season is well under way. First, let me congratulate a great friend of college baseball, John Manuel of BASEBALL AMERICA, for reception of the 2003 Wilbur Snypp Award. John has devoted thousands of hours to college coverage, major issues in collegiate athletics and extensive research, and he is a faithful member of NCBWA. If you are in the state of Hawai’i, you probably have some 20-25 college baseball games by now. The Aloha State seems to be one of the few to miss the precipitation this time of year (and they do have an occasional tropical shower there), but it is great to see the season get underway, read the early NCBWA polls, and think warmer thoughts of spring. Incidentally, for the media relations contacts in our group, please check CoSIDA DIGEST, ably edited by North Alabama SID Jeff Hodges, for rules, deadlines and compilations of the annual CoSIDA/NCBWA publications’ contests. There is competition for both media guides and programs/yearbooks, so jump in and send entries. With pending NCAA legislation, the future of media guides is a bit vague at this juncture, so enjoy the guides and contests while you can as NCAA action awaits in April, 2004. Have a great year, and go to a college game soon ! Jeff Hurd - NCBWA President The Western Athletic Conference NCBWA Preseason Poll The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the seventh year with its 2004 weekly surveys.

Corpus Christi (30-21) at Springfield (27-24) Wednesday, May 30, 2018 • Hammons Field • Springfield, MO • 6:30 p.m. ON THE RECORD: 20-8 Home | 10-13 Road | 9-3-2 Series | 2-1 Sweeps | W 3 Streak | 3-2 Last 5 | 6-4 Last 10 OFFENSE IGNITES IN THE OZARKS: Josh Rojas’ bases-loaded triple spearheaded a six-run sixth inning Tuesday night, as the Hooks rolled to an 11-4 triumph over the Cardinals in the series opener at Hammons Field. The Hooks unlocked a 4-4 tie by sending 11 men to bat in the sixth. Eight hitters reached before the first out was recorded. Jamie Ritchie put Corpus Christi in front with an RBI single off Yeison Medina. Myles Straw made it 6-4 by coaxing a bases-loaded walk from Ramon Santos. Rojas was next and seared a line-drive into the right-field alley, sending three home. Randy Cesar capped the barrage with a run-scoring single. Yoanys Quiala earned his second consecutive win by retiring 15 of the 19 men he faced, striking out six. The Hooks’ final marker came in the eighth. Ryne Birk opened the frame with a three-bagger, and then scored on Ritchie’s single up the middle. Richie went 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Corpus Christi established an early 4-0 lead in its first two turns, knocking Springfield starter Connor Greene out of the game. Taylor Jones accounted for half the production via an RBI single and sac fly. The Cards leveled the score thanks to a pair of two-run home runs from Granden Goetzman and Chris Chinea off lefty Ryan Hartman.
