    Henry M. Huckaby Chancellor, University System of Georgia Chancellor Henry M. Huckaby Henry “Hank” M. Huckaby was born in Spalding County, Georgia and grew up in CHapeville. His career has focused on a long record of public service to the state of Georgia in many areas of government. Huckaby’s involvement with the University System of Georgia began when he was a student. After earning an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Young Harris College, he pursued his education at Georgia State University, earning both a bachelor’s degree in political science and an MBA in International Business. He continued his education through additional graduate studies at the University of Georgia. During the 1960’s and 70’s, Huckaby taught at the college level, at both DeKalb College (now Georgia Perimeter College) and Emory University. He also has lectured at UGA and Young Harris College. His career in higher education and his involvement with the University System continued with service in a number of key administrative positions. Early in his career, Huckaby worked in the area of admissions at Georgia State University (1967-71) and Gordon College (1972-73). Later, he served as director of the Fiscal Research Program at Georgia State University (1995-97), director of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at UGA (1997-2000), senior vice president of Finance and Administration at UGA (2000-06), and as special assistant to the president at UGA on a part-time basis (2006-09). In a career that goes beyond his long association with the University System, Hank Huckaby has a long history of public service to the citizens of Georgia.

    Georgia Higher Learning and Earnings David Evans II January 2017 Executive Summary By 2025, over 60 percent of jobs in Georgia likely will require some form of a college education, whether a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree.1 Expected earnings are an important factor in making the decision to pursue a certain degree or major, but these data have not previously been publicly available. With this in mind, the Georgia Higher Learning and Earnings Report presents earnings information for Georgia technical college and college/university graduates who work in Georgia after earning their degrees.2 It presents median, 25th percentile, and 75th percentile wages by degree category (certificate, bachelor’s, etc.), technical college or college/university, program of study, and whether the student graduated with the HOPE scholarship/grant for the first and fifth year after graduation. In addition, it explores award patterns by gender and race/ethnicity.3 In addition to degree type and program of study, it is important to note that many factors, such as student ability/motivation, college selectivity, and job market conditions affect earnings, so the results in this report should not be interpreted as a guarantee of employment or earnings. The report is limited to wage data on graduates who work in Georgia for employers that provide wage data to the Georgia Department of Labor, so it does not include wages earned in out-of-state jobs, as an independent contractor, or as a federal or military employee. With this in mind, the results should be seen as one piece of information that students and parents can use when making program and degree choices.

    MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF GEORGIA HELD AT DeKALB COLLEGE DECATUR, GEORGIA APRIL 9-10, 1996 CALL TO ORDER The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia met on Tuesday, April 9, 1996, at 1:00 P.M., and again on Wednesday, April 10, 1996, at 9:00 A.M., in the Jim Cherry Learning Resources Center, Room 411, DeKalb College, 3251 Panthersville Road, Decatur, Georgia 30034. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Regent Juanita Powell Baranco. Present, in addition to Chairman Baranco, were Regents: Thomas F. Allgood, Sr. (Vice Chair), John H. Anderson, Jr., Kenneth W. Cannestra, John H. Clark, S. William Clark, Jr., J. Tom Coleman, Jr., A. W. ‟Bill” Dahlberg, Suzanne G. Elson, Elsie P. Hand, Edgar L. Jenkins, Charles H. Jones, Donald M. Leebern, Jr., Elridge W. McMillan, Edgar L. Rhodes, and William B. Turner. Absent on Tuesday, April 9, was Regent Anderson, and absent on Wednesday, April 10, were Regents Jenkins and McMillan. The invocation was given, on Tuesday, April 9, 1996, by Ms. Michelle Ruby, President of the Gwinnett Campus Student Government Association of DeKalb College, and on Wednesday, April 10, 1996, by Chairman Baranco. Attendance The Attendance Report was read on both days by Secretary Gail S. Weber, who announced that there was a quorum each day and that Regent Anderson had asked for and had been given approval to be absent on Tuesday, April 9th, and Regents Jenkins, and McMillan had asked for and had been given approval to be absent on Wednesday, April 10th.
