December 14, 1993 Heritage Savings Trust Fund Act 47 Title: Tuesday, December 14, 1993 hs there were many reasons for building a fund of that size. I think one was that certainly we wanted to establish a large enough fund that Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Act could cover a cross section of business activity throughout the province of Alberta. Abstract The papers that comprise this thesis study the internal composition of shopping centers empirically from three different aspects. They examine several interesting economic issues, help to fill the gap in knowledge about shopping center internal configurations, and contribute to the literature on empirical investigations of shopping centers. In Chapter 2, data on the internal compositions of 90 regional shopping centers in the five westernmost provinces in Canada are used to examine locational regularities in the placement of stores in shopping centers that can exploit both demand externalities and the physical features of the mall. Clustering occurs among stores of certain types. In addition, results of a regression analysis indicate that clustering of stores may depend upon a shopping center’s characteristics. -
