The Eight Emails That Every American Should See JANUARY 2017 THE EIGHT EMAILS THAT EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD SEE Produced as a public service by The Free-Man’s Perspective Newsletter http://www.freemansperspective.com Introduction Men stumble over the truth from time to time, but most pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened. – Winston Churchill With apologies to Shakespeare, the question currently before the American public is as simple as it is challenging: to see or not to see. The WikiLeaks emails of 2016 gave America and the world a glimpse behind the facade delivered to us by Big Media, Hollywood and Washington. Truth now sits openly in front of the public. The question is how many people will pick it up and look at it, and how many will scurry off, not wanting to see. The emails that are now available to us (via WikiLeaks and a few other sources) should, in my opinion, be dinner table conversation in every American home. Most of the emails address the Democratic party, but please understand that the Republicans do the same things. Politicians of both parties created the current mess. Politicians of both parties sell their votes to donors, take orders from unelected party officials, and spend billions of dollars to instill fear in voters. They operate in almost exactly the same ways, and are members of the same elite class. And so, I’ve represented this without reference to party politics. If we focus on parties, we get lost in endless quarrels and lose sight of the things that really matter. There were of course tens of thousands of emails to choose from. I chose only a few for this collection; too many and it’s easy to lose the crucial points in a torrent of words. The emails you’ll find here are the ones that had especially significant content. Essentially, they’re the ones that most overtly contradicted the civics lessons I was taught in American schools. I suppose that they’ll be notable to you for the same reason. I’ve introduced each of these emails with a few lines to highlight the main points. But please feel free to disregard my notes; the emails themselves are what really matter. Please discuss these emails with your family members, friends, and co-workers. Truth is to be faced, not ignored… at least if we have any desire to be free in reality, not just in patriotic pageants. It’s a true saying that the truth will set you free. Choose to see it. #1: Google Is Doing Spy Work Shocking as it may be to many people, Google has been doing clandestine work that used to be done through official channels, as seen in this email from a former State Dept. security official. Please note the line, “Google is getting WH [White House] and State Dept. support and air cover. In reality they are doing things the CIA cannot do.” Also note the line about Google fomenting uprisings. 2 http://www.freemansperspective.com Re: GOOGLE & Iran ** internal use only – pls do not forward ** Email-ID 1121800 Date 2011-02-27 15:31:56 From [email protected] To [email protected], [email protected] GOOGLE is getting WH and State Dept. support & air cover. In reality, they are doing things the CIA cannot do. But, I agree with you. He’s going to get himself kidnapped or killed. Might be the best thing to happen to expose GOOGLE’s covert role in foaming up-risings, to be blunt. The US Govt can then disavow knowledge and GOOGLE is left holding the shit bag. (source) #2: Google and the US Defense Establishment Note in these two emails that Keith Alexander, the Director of the NSA, was on a first name basis with the bosses of Google and called one of them “a key member of the Defense Industrial Base.” 3 http://www.freemansperspective.com (source) #3: Media Collusion with Politicians I was taught that the news media were important checks on political power and abuse. But however much this was true in my youth, it is no longer true. This email shows that a prominent commentator working for a major news outlet provided debate questions, in advance of that debate, to a presidential contender, rendering that debate a farce (though it looked ever so dignified to the public). The commentator, shortly after the email was revealed, was made head of the presidential campaign. Silly us; turns out that money isn’t all that important if you can conflate entertainment with the electoral process. Trump masters TV, TV so-called news picks up and repeats and repeats to death this opinionated blowhard and his hairbrained ideas, free-floating discontent attaches to a seeming strongman and we’re off and running. JFK, Jr would be delighted by all this as his “George” magazine saw celebrity politics coming. The magazine struggled as it was ahead of its time but now looks prescient. George, of course, played the development 9 http://www.freemansperspective.com pretty lightly, basically for charm and gossip, like People, but what we are dealing with now is dead serious. How does this get handled in the general? Secretary Clinton is not an entertainer, and not a celebrity in the Trump, Kardashian mold; what can she do to offset this? I’m certain the poll-directed insiders are sure things will default to policy as soon as the conventions are over, but I think not.

The Rise and Impact of Fact-Checking in U.S. Campaigns by Amanda Wintersieck A Dissertation Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy Approved April 2015 by the Graduate Supervisory Committee: Kim Fridkin, Chair Mark Ramirez Patrick Kenney ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY May 2015 ABSTRACT Do fact-checks influence individuals' attitudes and evaluations of political candidates and campaign messages? This dissertation examines the influence of fact- checks on citizens' evaluations of political candidates. Using an original content analysis, I determine who conducts fact-checks of candidates for political office, who is being fact- checked, and how fact-checkers rate political candidates' level of truthfulness. Additionally, I employ three experiments to evaluate the impact of fact-checks source and message cues on voters' evaluations of candidates for political office. i DEDICATION To My Husband, Aza ii ACKNOWLEDGMENTS I wish to express my sincerest thanks to the many individuals who helped me with this dissertation and throughout my graduate career. The United States Government Manual 1997/1998 Office of the Federal Register National Archives and Records Administration ?1 Revised May 30, 1997 Raymond A. Mosley, Director of the Federal Register. John W. Carlin, Archivist of the United States. On the Cover: Jackie Robinson as a Brooklyn Dodger infielder (from the holdings of the National Archives and Records Administration's Still Pictures Branch, 306±PS± 50±4370). The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) joins the Nation in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's breaking the color barrier in major league baseball. NARA's mission is to ensure access to essential evidence that documents the rights of American citizens, the actions of Federal officials, and the national experience through its nationwide system of repositories, public programs, and Federal Register publications. Records from NARA's holdings reflect that Robinson's contributions extended well beyond the playing field to the larger field of law and government. Every American President who held office between 1956 and 1972 received letters from Jackie Robinson expressing the passionate and, at times, combative spirit with which Robinson worked to remove the racial barriers in American society so that all citizens would receive rights guaranteed by the Constitution. For more information on Jackie Robinson's legacy as seen through Federal records, visit NARA's Digital Classroom exhibit, Jackie Robinson: Beyond the Playing Field (Internet, http://www.nara.gov/education/), a collection of correspondence, photographs, and three lesson plans that focus on civil rights history, character education values, and civic responsibility. Special thanks to CMG Worldwide and the Robinson family for their cooperation and permission to use the Jackie Robinson image and the 50th anniversary logo on this year's Manual cover.

That line, the one about how D.C.-is- worse-today-than-he’s-ever-seen-it-before, is his main talking point of the moment; it’s an idea he first tested out in a column for The Hill the day before and a point he went on to make almost verbatim on his ABC World News appearance, later that day as a guest on MSNBC , to this reporter in his car, and even to an old acquaintance he hap- pened to run into. Davis gets so distracted mining his own thoughts on the subject that, at one point, he turns the wrong way on a one-way street and PHOTO CREDIT FEET IN freezes for what feels like hours (though he con- tinues talking) before finally pulling over to the curb. • „Odwaga Nadziei”
Rafał Kuś „Odwaga nadziei” Analiza retoryczna przemówienia Baracka Obamy z 27 lipca 2004 roku Znaczenie klasycznej sztuki retorycznej we współczesnym komunikowaniu poli tycznym bywa - zwłaszcza w dyskursie popularnym - jednocześnie niedoceniane i przeceniane. The Communications Revolution in Public Affairs New Media and New Campaigning
THE COMMUNICATIONS REVOLUTION IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS NEW MEDIA AND NEW CAMPAIGNING Mark S. Senak, J.D. Fleishman-Hillard Perspectives on Emerging Media The problem with television is that people must sit and keep their eyes glued to the screen; the average American family hasn't time for it. Therefore the showmen are convinced that for this reason, if no other, television will never be a serious competitor of broadcasting. --1939 New York Times editorial Television won't matter in your lifetime or mine. --1936 J.C. Furnas , "The Next Hundred Years." 1 The Communications Revolution in Public Affairs NEW MEDIA AND NEW CAMPAIGNING Introduction While social media has been largely dismissed by some as being a fad, nevertheless, much has been written about the transformative nature that the Internet has brought to campaigning and especially to fundraising. In fact, the decision by the Barack Obama campaign in June 2008 to forego public campaign financing for the 2008 Presidential campaign opting instead to raising funds directly from the public is attributable, at least in part, to his prowess in using the Internet to attract small donors to whom he can return for repeat contribution.1 While many features of new, emerging media were first manifest as social mechanisms, utilization of social media is quickly being grasped by mainstream communicators as an essential component in staying relevant with and in public dialog. The inevitability of the trend is reflected in the fact that all major newspapers now have Weblogs (blogs)2 and a newspaper or television network reporter who is topnotch is likely to have a Weblog as well.3 On the public affairs front, while new and social media have emerged as important campaign options for fundraising, these tools are also beginning to be employed on a much broader front.
