The Oscars 2017 by Erle and Daniela The Oscars is an annual award winning ceremony, where awards are given out to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements. The winners are rewarded with a copy of a statuette called Academy Award of Merit, commonly known by its nickname "Oscars". The statue is a metal man standing on a film roll and holding a sword. Oscars is given out by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Academy's voting membership gets to decide who gets nominated, and awarded. The first ceremony was in 1929 on radio, and later in 1953 it got televised for the first time. The Oscars where held on February 26, 2017. It takes place yearly at the Dolby Theatre, in Los Angeles California. This year was the 89th Academy Award ceremony with Jimmy Kimmel as host. The Oscars honored the movies of 2016. There is a lot of excitement around this event. It can be seen live from more than 200 countries, and streamed online, which makes it easier for everyone to keep up. As well as the Oscars are about the awards, they're also about the shocking and fabulous dresses and suits. This is often a big focus on social media, which has become quite normal. The gossip and the revealing news are as well a big part of the Oscars. There were 24 different categories and many nominated. Some of the winners were Emma Stone (from "La La Land") as best Actress in a leading role, Casey Affleck (from "Manchester by the Sea") as best Actor in a leading role, "La La Land" as best music and "Moonlight" as best picture. "La La Land" was as a mishap, declared winner of Oscars 2017 best picture honors by the presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunawaye. When the team of the movie held their acceptance speech they got stopped, and it was cleared that it was made a mistake. The team of "La La Land" handled it well, and gave the Oscar further to the team of "Moonlight". The city is situated on the island Oahu and the main point of entry for most visitors to the state. There are visitors from all over the world coming here to enjoy the beach- es, museums, tropical climates, the heat, malls and centers. There are so much to do in Honolulu and this article will show you where you can go and experience new and amazing adventures with your friends and family. 1. The Diamond head hike The Diamond head is a volcanic landmark. The roads are well marked, there are fences around the trails in the mountains for security reasons and great stairs in inclines. When you reach the top, there is an amazing view over the Waikiki beach. 2. The Pearl Harbor The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval place at Pearl Harbor in 1941. This attack led to the United States’ entry into World War II. On the Pearl Harbor, the visitors can get a professional narration from an expert guide. On this tour you can go the Round Trip transportation, either from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor or from Honolulu Interna- tional Airport. 3. The Waikiki beach The Waikiki beach is the perfect place for surf and stand-up paddling lessons. You and your family can sleep over at the fantastic Waikiki hotel. 4. Hanauma Bay Snorkeling This amazing beach has over 450 different and colorful Hawaiian tropical fish species! Many of which can only be found in Hawaii. The humuhumunukunukuapua’a fish is the Hawaiian state fish. You can swim alongside and take pictures with the fish and turtles. It would be fantastic pictures and super fun experiences. 5. Ala Moana Center Ala Moana Center is the largest shopping center located in Honolulu. There are more than 290 stores in the mall! There are also 80 dining options, four major department stores and several only-in-Hawaii retailers featuring locally-made products. 6. Byodo-in temple The Byodo-in temple was established to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. Ringing the bell will purify the mind of evil spirits and temptation. This bell will bring you happiness, blessing and a long life. 7. Dole plantation pineapple maze The Plantation provides enjoyable activities for your family, including the Pineapple Express, the Plan- tation Garden Maze. Before you leave, you can get a fresh pineapple to take home. It is the largest maze in the world. 8. The Lanai beach/ turtle beach You and your family can bring picnic, lay in the sand or swim in the water. But it’s a reason why they call it the turtle beach. That’s because it’s always sea turtles there. The sea turtles loves to basket in the sun and they are friendly. Number 1: Vermont teddy bear company Vermont teddy bear company is one of the largest teddy bear brands in the world. Its located in Shelbourne, Vermont. All teddy bears are handmade and the company produces over 500 000 teddy bears each year. Number 2: Mount snow Mount snow is a ski slope in Vermont. It contains of 86 slopes you can use and its 20 lifts in total. The slopes is 14% for beginners, 73% easy slopes and 13% demanding slopes. There is no expert slopes. Number 3: Burlington brewery tour This is a four hour tour which costs around 85 dol- lars. You get to taste up to fifteen world class beers, dine at a local resturant and get inside tips from a local. This tour is of course for adults. Number 4: Stowe recrecration path If you're looking for a quiet and amazing walk, but also full of excite- ment, this is the tour for you! You can either walk or ride a bike. Theres many rivers and the path leads to a mountain where you also can walk. Number 5: Taste of Vermont food tour A full day of eating, isn't that what everyone wants! You get to taste foods like sample cheese, cider, donuts and ice cream. It's located at the Green mountain state in vermont and the to- tal price is around 130 dollars. Number 6: Paramount theater The Paramount theater is located in Rutland, Vermont. The playhouse is the theater often called and it is a his- toric performance theater. Several people describes this theater as warm and cosy. In the rewievs of this theater it almost every time get five out of five stars and they highly recommend you this place. Number 7: Mountain bike lesson in Stowe Are you new to mountain biking? Do you want to get more active while still having fun and being social? Then this small group tour is something for you. It's a two hour step by step guide andthe price is 65 dollars. Number 8: Hildene, The Lincoln family home This is where the famous former president Abra- ham lincoln and is family lived. It has a beautiful garden and outdoor area and an amazing indoor design. It is now a museum and the house is ex- tremely big. Interested in old furnitures and beau- tiful place? This is your place! Number 9: Waterfront park This park in Burlington does not only have paths and plants, it also has beaches! Not your normal park! It has boat and car parkings and they send up fireworks several times a year. Looking for a fun day in the sun? Then this is your go to! Number 10: Driving tour with picnic This tour specialises itself for people over 50, who want a peaceful and luxury day. The price is 260 dollars for one day. You will be driving through the hills of vermont in a lux- ury BMW Z4. Its free drinks all day and you're driving slowly trough Vermonts most peaceful and luxuriest areas.
