Administered by the Division of Marine Fisheries, CVA has been underway since 1994. Funding is provided through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Sportfish Restoration Program. Since the CVA program’s inception, Massachusetts harbors have put more pumpout boats in service than any other state. Questions? If you have any questions about the CVA program or CVA-funded facilities, please call Cecil French at (978) 282-0308 ext 119. Massachusetts No Discharge Zone (NDZ) Boat sewage can contain bacteria and viruses, nutrients, and chemicals that can be harmful to water quality and pub- lic health. NDAs are designated bodies of water where the discharge of all boat sewage, whether treated or not, is pro- hibited. Energy & Environmental Secretary Matthew A. Beaton is proud that all of Massachusetts coastal waters have been designated a No Discharge zone.
