  • PRAYER Book One Meher Baba Think of Me Every Day for Five Minutes
PRAYER Book one Meher Baba Think of me every day for five minutes only, at any time of the day. Of course the best time would be at five in the morning, when I remain almost everywhere. This little beginning of a mere five minutes will also be your first step on the spiritual Path. Once you get interested in and attuned to the thought of God, you will have a constant urge to think of him for a certain period every day. It is sincere thought I want. No amount of prayer and chanting would be of any value if done as a ritual. These five minutes of thought, meditation or concentration on God or the Master are a thousand times better than any prayer. God wants love, pure sincere love. He does not want to hear bombastic jaw-breaking words and shlokas from the shastras and passages from the Avesta. The prayer books of all the religions, the Avesta of the Parsis, the Koran of the Muslims, the Bible of the Christians, the Vedas of the Hindus, and all other religious books are long treatises, and have nothing to do with the Truth. Zarathustra taught that you must burn your heart in love of God, and the dasturs thereafter changed the meaning of it and altered it to mean burning externally with sandalwood. The religious dogmas and doctrines of the Kusti and other prayers in the Avesta all have been changed from time to time. Take one name sincerely, lovingly, devotedly for a few minutes, without the thought of anything else, and that is worth more than hours of mechanical prayers.

  • SAAH018 CD Only Release Date: October 21, 2003 Harris Newman – Guitars, Lapsteel Bruce Cawdron – Drum Kit, Pandeiro, Bodhran, Lapsteel, Bowed Cymbals
Harris Newman Non-Sequiturs SAAH018 CD Only Release Date: October 21, 2003 Harris Newman – guitars, lapsteel Bruce Cawdron – drum kit, pandeiro, bodhran, lapsteel, bowed cymbals These days it seems as though anyone performing instrumental music with an acoustic guitar as the centerpiece is automatically referenced to the late John Fahey. So it comes as an invigorating breath of fresh air to hear the music of Harris Newman, a guitarist from Montreal, Canada whose musical approach actually does come from a perspective true to the American acoustic compositional tradition that Fahey and his Takoma Records imprint helped advance. Active in the musical/cultural hotbed that is Montreal - his resume boasts electric/upright bass duties in Constellation Records frayed-folksters Sackville, and conducts audio mastering work through his Grey Market Mastering company (clients include such Montreal luminaries as Fly Pan Am, Hanged Up, A Silver Mount Zion and countless others) - Harris Newman's solo music is a beautiful beast of a decidedly different color than the typical Montreal scene. Newman is a fingerstyle steel-string acoustic guitarist possessing a remarkably detailed and lush sound, and he is creating some of the most lyrical compositions for the instrument to be heard anywhere. Non-Sequiturs is his debut release, a fabulous album of alternately effervescent and deeply mysterious acoustic guitar grandeur. Newman's acoustic fingerpicking dances and swaggers, creating a sunny expanse of tunes that are augmented by stark, introspective passages. Much like Fahey's classic 1967 album The Yellow Princess, Non-Sequiturs juxtaposes giddy, pastoral songs against heady, experimental sound excursions. Opening with the galloping pace of “Around About Thirty-Six”, resonating steel-strings halos refract gilded light against the moody drone corridors of “I Fought the Lottery”.

STAY WITH GOD A Statement in Illusion on Reality Third edition 1990 By Francis Brabazon An Avatar Meher Baba Trust Online Release June 2011 Copyright © Avatar’s Abode Trust 1984 Source and short publication history: This Online Release reproduces the third edition, which is the first illustrated edition (1990), of Stay With God, published by New Humanity Books, Melbourne, Australia. Stay With God was originally published by Edwards and Shwa for Garuda Books, Woombye, Queensland, in 1959, and a second edition was published in 1977 by Meher House Publications, Bombay, India. eBooks at the Avatar Meher Baba Trust Web Site The Avatar Meher Baba Trust’s eBooks aspire to be textually exact though non- facsimile reproductions of published books, journals and articles. With the consent of the copyright holders, these online editions are being made available through the Avatar Meher Baba Trust’s web site, for the research needs of Meher Baba’s lovers and the general public around the world. Again, the eBooks reproduce the text, though not the exact visual likeness, of the original publications. They have been created through a process of scanning the original pages, running these scans through optical character recognition (OCR) software, reflowing the new text, and proofreading it. Except in rare cases where we specify otherwise, the texts that you will find here correspond, page for page, with those of the original publications: in other words, page citations reliably correspond to those of the source books. But in other respects—such as lineation and font—the page designs differ. Our purpose is to provide digital texts that are more readily downloadable and searchable than photo facsimile images of the originals would have been.

  • Francis Brabazon Collection: Significance Assessment Report
Francis Brabazon Collection: Significance Assessment Report Dr Ray Kerkhove Woombye, 2008 1 INDEX Collection Background…………………………….. 3 A. Statement of Significance……………………..... 4 B. Significance by Comparative Criteria…………. 15 C. Australian & Queensland Heritage Themes…… 17 D. Recommendations (Implementation)………….. 20 Appendixes………………………………………... 21 2 Collection Background The collection began as the personal library of Baron Frederick von Frankenberg, which was accumulated in Germany and other parts of Europe c.1900-1920s. It was initially housed at Camden (outside Sydney, NSW). The library formed the core resource for Australia’s first Sufi group and other persons interested in the arts and spirituality at that time. From this phase, the collection gained early editions of Inayat Khan’s works and the only extant material on the early Sufi Society in Australia. In 1950, the Modernist poet Francis Brabazon inherited the collection when he succeeded the Baron as head of the Sufi Society. Thereafter, and until 1959, the collection was housed in the centre Francis was constructing at Beacon’s Hill (Sydney). It continued to be used by Francis and his associates. Francis also added his own library, which consisted of books and recordings he acquired in Melbourne, New York and elsewhere. Some of these acquisitions reflect Francis’ role in early Australian Modernism. This enlarged it into an unusually comprehensive collection on the world’s literary and scriptural texts, which Francis then utilized in the creation of his own poetry, prose and music. Also from this period came many notes and drafts of Francis’ early works. Between 1959 and 1969, Francis Brabazon resided in India with his spiritual master, Meher Baba.

  • Meher Baba Text Section 26-4-06
Preface When Meher Baba and me was first published I expected to be addressing a Baba lover audience exclusively. It turned out that a number of relatives and friends who were not Baba lovers liked the book very much and the lack of knowledge regarding Baba’s Life or ‘Cosmology’ didn’t seem to matter. This was a lovely surprise! For those readers who might want to know more about Baba, I’d like to recommend this unusual, amazing web site: http://www.meherbabadnyana.net/life_eternal/Life_Eternal.html Of course Googling Meher Baba will bring up dozens of interesting sites – but this one is quite special. Author’s contact: [email protected] Purchase book: Sheriar Foundation Bookstore 807 34th Ave. S. North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582 USA http://www.sheriarbooks.org/ Free ebook on-line: http://www.meherbabaandme.com/ ***Dear Jim, It just goes to show that it is possible to cross the Californian with the Aussie and come up with a winner! Your book makes life with Baba feel very real and immediate. We have both read it and enjoyed it immensely. It is full of good things and we are so grateful that you have gone to all the trouble to share them with us. Tian knows how much is involved (as she has published her Chinese translation of Discourses). We hope you can come up this way before long and drink some Queensland red with us. Jai Baba! Geoff and Tian ***By chance this is the second time I saw your name in a week so I decided to read your book.

Thank you both for not giving up on me even when things were moving very slow. I am especially thankful for your support in my work in the combination of popular music/performance studies. A big thank you goes to Siren Leirvåg for guidance in the literature of theatre studies. Everybody at the Institute of Music at UiO for helping me when I came back after my student hiatus in 2007. I cannot over-exaggerate my gratitude towards Rob Lee, webmaster at www.thewho.com for helping me with finding important information on that site and his attempts at getting me an interview with one of the boys. The work being done on that site is fantastic. Also, a big thank you to my fellow Who fans. Discussing Who with you makes liking the band more fun.
