The Minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council Meeting held at Ashford Carbonell Village Hall on Monday 3rd October 2018 commencing 7.00pm

1. Present: Councillors: Mr N Tilt (Chairman), Mr M Thompson, Mrs C Bicker-Caarten, Mr J Hawkins

2. Apologies: Mr M Bowden

3. Items from Members of the Public: Two members of the public were present. Concern was expressed by a member of the public at the lack of a suitable public notice board within the village.

4. Declarations of Interest: No items

5. To approve the Minutes of the Previous Meeting: The minutes of the meetings dated the 18th July 2018 were approved by the council and signed as a correct record by the Chairman.

8. Planning Items: The Parish Council had no objections to the following planning applications: 18/03603/TCA – Forde Ashford Carbonell – Fell one Poplar tree. 18/04245/TCA - Mortimers Huntington Lane Ashford Carbonell – Fell three Birch Trees. The Clerk was asked to obtain an update of outstanding enforcement issues within the Parish.

9. Highway/Amenity Items: a) The dangerous manhole cover situated on the verge as you approach Ashford Carbonell Bridge travelling towards Ludlow had been repaired by . b) The Chairman raised concerns by residents at the speed of traffic using the Road as they approach the narrow Ashford Carbonell Bridge travelling towards Ludlow and was more dangerous when there is a build up of traffic during School Hours. The Parish Council agreed to ask Shropshire Council to provide more warning signs about the narrowness of the bridge. c) The Parish Council agreed to buy two grit salt bins and appropriate grit to be sited near the junction of the Village Green and in Donkey Lane near to the Church at a cost of £455.96. d) The Parish Council considered the provision of a new parish notice board for the village and suggested that this would need to be sited by the Village Hall. It was agreed by the Parish Council to refer the item to the Village Hall Committee for consideration and to look at appropriate suitable notice boards to which the Council would donate. The Parish Council would remove the broken Notice-Board at Huntington Lane which would not be replaced.

10. Financial Items: a) The Parish Council approved the following accounts for payment; C E Williams – quarterly disbursement - £375.00 Ashford Carbonell Village Hall – Grant towards the cutting cost of the hall field. Ashford Carbonell PCC – Upkeep of the Grounds - £400 b) The bank balances held at the 3rd October 2018 - £14,917.97
