LAST GAME: NEW JERSEY 2 at BUFFALO 1 (OT) The Devils recorded their second-consecutive road win and improved to 7-3-3=17pts on the season. New Jersey is now 2-3-2 on the road and is 2-3-2 vs. the Atlantic Division. It was New Jersey's second overtime win of the season and its first OT win on the road.

TAKE TWO! Head Coach John Hynes is entering his second season as New Jersey's bench boss. Last season the Devils' finished with a 38-36-8 (84pts) record. Hynes also was the head coach for the United States at the 2016 Men's IIHF World Championships where the American's finished fourth. He was an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Geoff Ward, Alain Nasreddine and Chris Terreri all returned with Coach Hynes for another season. In his first season with the team in 2015-16, Bylsma guided the Sabres to a 27-point improvement. Buffalo finished 35-36-11 overall and enjoyed the second-largest points percentage improvement in franchise history.

Bylsma joined the Sabres after spending six seasons as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he led the team to a 252-117-32 overall regular-season record and became the winningest head coach in Penguins history.

The Grand Haven, Mich. native began his coaching career in 2004-05 as an assistant coach for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (AHL).
