SC Tops the OTP Chart in Mainland China for Three Consecutive Months, Showing the Most Rapid YoY Growth

Powered by VariFlight incomparable aviation database, the monthly report of Airline On-time Arrival Performance provides an overview of how global airlines perform in May, 2019.

In May, Garuda Indonesia tops the global OTP chart among big airlines. A total of 407,000 aircraft movements were handled by Chinese airlines, showing an increase of 6.15 percent year-over-year.

 Garuda Indonesia and Citilink take the top spot in the global OTP chart among big and medium-sized airlines, respectively.  Shandong Airlines retains the most punctual airlines among the ten major airlines in Mainland China for three consecutive months with an on-time arrival rate of 88.32 percent, showing the most rapid YoY growth  Taking a look at the TOP10 domestic popular routes, JHG-KMG route tops the OTP chart carried by Beijing Capital Airlines.

Global Big and Medium-Sized Airlines GA Tops Global Big Airlines In May, airlines in Indonesia show an excellent performance. Garuda Indonesia tops the global big airlines chart with an on-time arrival rate of 97.45 percent and 3.73 minutes of average arrival delay, followed by All Nippon Airways and S7 Airlines. Citilink delivers the best OTP again among all medium-sized airlines worldwide with 97.99 percent punctuality and 2.85 minutes of average arrival delay, followed by Hawaiian Airlines and COPA.

APAC Big and Medium-Sized Airlines Indonesia and Australia become the top countries with most airlines in the OTP chart In May, Garuda Indonesia ranks first among all big airlines in Asia-Pacific region with an on-time arrival rate of 97.45 percent, followed by All Nippon Airways and Korean Air. Citilink leads the medium-sized airlines in APAC with an on-time arrival rate of 97.99 percent, followed by Malaysia Airlines and GoAir.

Mainland China - Ten Major Airlines SC Tops the OTP Chart for Three Consecutive Months and Shows the Most Rapid YoY in OTP In May, among ten major Chinese airlines Shandong Airlines retains the most punctual airlines for three consecutive months with an on-time arrival rate of 88.32 percent and 12.04 minutes of average arrival delay, followed by Shanghai Airlines and China Southern Airlines. Compared with last year, Shandong Airlines posts the fastest YoY growth of 7.9 percent, followed by Shanghai Airlines (4.10 percent) and China Southern Airlines (3.28 percent).

Mainland China – Other Airlines RY Becomes the Most Punctual Airlines among Other Airlines in Mainland China QW Shows the Most Rapid YoY Increase In May, Jiangxi Airlines tops the OTP chart among other airlines in Mainland China with an on-time arrival rate of 95.90 percent and average arrival delay of 5.36 minutes. Compared with last year, Qingdao Airlines enjoys the most rapid increase in OTP of 16.65 percent, followed by Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines (12.28 percent) and 9 Air (8.99 percent).

Mainland China - TOP10 Hot Routes JHG-KMG Route Run by Beijing Capital Airlines Tops OTP Chart Among the TOP10 domestic popular routes, the on-time departure performance of all route still shows decline. The most punctual one is JHG-KMG route with OTP of 89.85 percent, operated by Beijing Capital Airlines which is also the only popular route that shows an on-time rate over 85 percent.
