We hope you enjoy this year’s festivities with family and friends. There’s an excitement surrounding Kootenai Health this year. We are heading down new paths and celebrating many successes from the numerous capital improvement projects such as the new east wing to the completion of a hospitality center. This year proceeds will support the purchase of a da Vinci Surgical Robot. Having an additional surgical robot will serve more patients each year and support Kootenai Health’s goal of keeping patients close to home. It is truly inspirational to see this support for our community-owned, not-for-profit, independent hospital. The Foundation Board remains steadfast in our work to inspire philanthropy to provide superior care right here at home. On behalf of the Foundation Board, thank you for your continued support of our community hospital and its foundation. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Giving is investing. - John D. Rockefeller Each year during the holidays, we are reminded of the importance of giving. As we sit among our friends and family it is easy to be grateful for the bless- ings in our lives and feel compelled to share that with others. At Kootenai Health, we are fortunate to be able to support our community, be it through free or discounted health screenings, injury prevention programs, or health education. We’re also grateful to be on the receiving end of the giving trend, and continue to be grateful and humbled by our many generous community members. As it turns out, giving is more than just a way to feel good during the holiday season; it’s a way to invest in what’s important to you, including the growth of your community hospital. As we celebrate the 31st annual Festival of Trees, and look back on its history, it is wonderful to see how patient care in our community has been enhanced and how the events inspire great joy among those who attend. At some time or another, all of us will face a health crisis, whether it is our own or that of a loved one. Thanks to your gener- ous gifts made through the Festival of Trees and throughout the year, Kootenai Health has Kootenai Hospital the resources to help meet those needs.
