Transition, Year 1 and Year 2 have begun learning about the Kimochi Communication Keys. Key 1 is about ways to gain someone's attention respectfully. Students learnt about calling someone's name, waiting for them to look and about using eye contact. Students also practiced using a gentle communication tap to get someone’s attention quietly. Key 2 is about using a talking voice, not a fighting voice and the importance of tone. Students looked at the differences between a loud, fighting voice and a calm voice – and how our tone can hinder or help a situation.
