My research project tackled the evolution of ballet, particularly in the French context. In other words, how did ballet evolve over time and what constitutes a ballet even with these differences. Since I was in Paris for language and cultural immersion, I decided to only focus on the French style of ballet, especially since I am familiar with the Russian style (I danced for 15 years at a Russian conservatory-like academy) and the American style (via Williams College). -

PRESS RELEASE First names for Sziget 2014 The Sziget crew is happy to announce the first names confirmed for the music program of this year’s ’Island of Freedom’ taking place between 11-18 August. Queens of the Stone Age, Calvin Harris, Placebo and many more will definitely be at Óbudai Island in the heart of Budapest this summer. In 2014 the ’Island of Freedom’ will take place one week later than previously. Károly Gerendai, founder and main organizer of Sziget Festival, said: „It seems like a good decision that we put the date of Sziget one week later, because now we can announce better names compared to this time last year. To put it simple there is a better chance that bands are on a European tour at this part of the month.” Sziget Festival was once again shortlisted amongst the top ten major European festivals this year at the European Festival Awards. As always, the music line-up will feature acts from various genres, while stars and smaller, but super exciting acts will both be presented at the stages of the event. The first names are… Queens of the Stone Age, the legendary rock band from Palm Desert, California, is known for its riff-oriented, heavy rock music. The cornerstone and charismatic leader of QOTSA is the singer-guitarist, Grammy Award winner, Josh Homme. Their latest album from 2013 ...Like Clockwork has an amazing list of contributors like Joey Castillo (former drummer), Mark Lanegan (regular collaborator and former member) and also Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails). This year they are going to rock Sziget Festival for sure. -

The Mosaert Philosophy
our story The creative label Mosaert - an anagram of Stromae - was founded in Brussels in 2009 by Paul Van Haver (better known as Stromae), together with his brother and artistic director Luc Junior Tam, to mark the launch of the singer’s first album, «Cheese». Since the beginning of his career, the author, composer and singer Stromae has wanted to produce his own music in order to maintain greater artistic independence. This means that his label will oversee everything, from production to artistic direction and from visuals to videos, not forgetting the staging of fashion shows and costumes. 2 The album «Cheese» was released in 2011. Aided by the concept of «Lessons from Stromae», and the various videos produced by Mosaert, such as the unforgettable «Alors on danse», it proved a great success and was a key feature of popular culture in 2009 and 2010. The single «Alors on danse» reached number 1 in 16 countries, selling more than 2 million copies; it was acclaimed by critics and the public alike for its individuality and its artistic coherence. 3 In 2014, Stromae released his second album, «Racine Carrée». The roaring success and amazing adventure represented by this second project can be summarised in a few figures: songs composed, written and performed for the most part by Stromae million copies sold worldwide videos released, with one billion Internet views live tour seen by more than 5 million people, with 209 performances in Europe, North America, South America and Africa 4 5 from music to fashion In 2012, the Mosaert team met Belgian stylist Coralie Barbier while working on the second Stromae album.
