APPROVED RULING—Approved rulings that appear in this text (shown as A.R.) are designed to interpret the appropriate rules and definitions and to apply them in the appropriate context. Statisticians should also make an effort to understand the NCAA playing rules of the game and to match that awareness with the rules for statisticians.
