LA REINA HIGH SCHOOL A Catholic College Preparatory School for Young Women 2014 - 2015 Profile MISSION STATEMENT La Reina High School is a Catholic college preparatory school for young women in the tradition, vision, and educational principles of the Sisters Head of School of Notre Dame. La Reina provides a nurturing, Catholic environment of educational Dr. Michael Bates excellence, focused on helping young women develop into moral and self-confident leaders, who work for the transformation of individuals and society. Students are given Dean of Academics opportunities to foster their relationship with God, to grow intellectually, to develop their Ms. Anne Coffey Rog, M.Ed. individual gifts, and to be catalysts for the promotion of justice locally, nationally and globally. Director of Guidance Mrs. Mindy Hobmann GENERAL INFORMATION Established in 1964, La Reina High School is a private Catholic college preparatory school for girls in grades 7 through 12. The school College Counselor is sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame. It is fully accredited by the Western Ms. Jennifer Charrett Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Catholic Education Association. Current enrollment is 557 students with an average class size of 25. Admission of students College Counselor is highly selective. Mrs. Nicole Twohig GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS La Reina offers a comprehensive, college Guidance and College preparatory program with graduation requirements that reflect the standards for admission Coordinator to the University of California. Students earn five credits for each semester of study. Two Honors or AP courses must be taken in grades 11 or 12. Those credits must be earned in one or more of the following departments: English, Fine Arts (AP only), Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies. This additional coursework must be taken at La Reina High School in grades 9 - 12.
