  • Monitoring the Cross-Border Circulation of European Music Repertoire
Monitoring the cross-border circulation of European music repertoire within the European Union Report commissioned by EMO & Eurosonic Noordeslag Emmanuel Legrand January 2012 1 About this report: The music scene in Europe is very strong, creative and diversified. Each country within the European Union has a solid local music scene. However, due to the structure of the various national markets, the existence of language diversity and different cultural behaviours, the flow of repertoire across borders within the EU is far from reflecting the notion of one single market. Although there have been embryonic attempts to document the situation of European music repertoire in Europe, the full scale of the situation has never been fully monitored. The European Music Office, in partnership with Eurosonic Noordeslag and Nielsen, has undertaken a preliminary study aimed at monitoring and analysing the cross-border flows of repertoire within the EU in 2011. The study provides quantifiable data on the circulation of repertoire with the ambition of becoming the foundation for an observatory of the circulation of repertoire in Europe. This report has been made possible with the contributions from the following organisations: [NB: the views expressed in this report are those of its author and do not represent those of EMO of Eurosonic Noordeslag.] 2 Executive Summary The study on the circulation of European repertoire within the European Union was commissioned by the European Music Office and Dutch conference and festival Eurosonic Noordeslag. Its purpose is to analyse the flow of repertoire between EU countries, based on statistical data on radio airplay and digital downloads.

  • Sunrise Avenue Veröffentlichen Neues Liebeslied
Bleiben sich ihrer Linie treu: Sunrise Avenue veröffentlichen mit "You Can Never Be Ready" ein neues Liebeslied. 22. Markus Mantere From World Exhibitions to Sunrise Avenue: A Short History of Music Exportation and Research in Finland Symposion »Analyse und Aufklärung, ›Public History‹ und Vermarktung. Methodologie, Ideologie und gesellschaftliche Orientierung der Musikwissenschaft in (und zu) Nordeuropa nach 1945« Beitragsarchiv des Internationalen Kongresses der Gesellschaft für Musikforschung, Mainz 2016 – »Wege der Musikwissenschaft«, hg. von Gabriele Buschmeier und Klaus Pietschmann, Mainz 2018 Veröffentlicht unter der Creative-Commons-Lizenz CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 im Katalog der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek (https://portal.dnb.de) und auf schott-campus.com © 2018 | Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG Markus Mantere From World Exhibitions to Sunrise Avenue: A Short History of Music Exportation and Research in Finland There are two main axioms whose musicological repercussions I want to probe in my essay. The first is that there is really no such thing as »Finnish« music per se. Any music, whether classical, popular, or something else, can potentially become defined as »Finnish« according to various factors or associations, just as all music can potentially become a signifier for a religion, an ideology, a person, or a nation. It is, of course, important to note that some musics resist their discursive exploitation, so to speak, as »national« music more effectively than others; how and to what extent they do this is beyond the scope of the current discussion. Some of the issues that I address below nevertheless have some resonance with this question as well. The second axiom in my essay is that the transnational and the international often construct what we come to understand as the »national«.1 In considering the music of smaller nations such as Finland, this is obvious: nationally meaningful symbols – whether musical, visual, or something else – receive their national signification in the context of international interactions.

  • Mobile. Complete System Solutions
Mobile. Complete system solutions More art. Less noise. Welcome to System reality. As the name implies a d&b audiotechnik system is not just a loudspeaker. Nor is it merely a sum of the components: loudspeakers, amplifiers, signal processors, networking, software and accessories. Right from the outset the d&b audiotechnik approach was to build integrated sound reinforcement systems that actually are more than the combination of parts: an entirety where each fits all. Every element is tightly specified, precisely aligned and carefully matched to achieve maximum efficiency. For ease of use, all the user-definable parameters are incorporated, allowing the possibility of adjustment, either directly, via remote control surfaces, or integrated within wider networks. Neutral sound characteristics leave the user all the freedom needed to realize whatever the brief. At the same time d&b offers finance, service and support, a knowledgeable distribution network, education and training as well as technical information, so the same optimal acoustic result is achieved consistently by every system anywhere, at any time. In reality: the d&b System reality. Sunrise Avenue, Cologne, Germany Mobile. The Mobile range of d&b systems fulfills a broad spectrum of application demands, from touring productions and sports events, to live sound, per- forming arts and speech reinforcement. The loud- speakers and amplifiers are specifically designed to deliver scalability, flexibility and maximum efficiency, with dedicated rigging and transport accessories for easy redeployment from one venue to the next. Each loudspeaker Series features trademark d&b qualities: low weight, constant directivity control down to low frequencies, cardioid subwoofer technology, and integrated flying equipment.

The Ultimate Playlist This list comprises more than 3000 songs (song titles), which have been released between 1931 and 2021, either as a single or as a track of an album. However, one has to keep in mind that more than 300000 songs have been listed in music charts worldwide since the beginning of the 20th century [web: http://tsort.info/music/charts.htm]. Therefore, the present selection of songs is obviously solely a small and subjective cross-section of the most successful songs in the history of modern music. • Rock Album Discography Last Up-Date: September 27Th, 2021
Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
