This year that means that our Granddaughter, Evie will wake up with Santa Claus climbing down the chimney. All going well grand child number 2 will be hanging around as well. We had Kimberley and Brad move in over the long weekend and things are slowly getting sorted out. The spare room has become a bit of both a spare room and hanging space but having breakfast and dinner with your grand kids is a great bonus in your life. I have always said that Grand kids will be great, you can spoil the sh@# out of them and give them back. Popsy’s tractor has proved to be a hit with the girl and the look of excitement on her face when she sees it outside the lounge room window is something to be seen. On the Sprite front things have been very busy, with Graham’s trip up North to meet the Queenslander’s. I need to thank Graham for organising a trip that he could not attend. The effort and cost that goes into organising some- thing like this can only be really appreciated by those who have done it in the past. While numbers were down from NSW, the Queenslanders rallied and all who went had a great time. The cars that are around the New England area are amazing and it just shows that the basic principal of country life was the same 100 years ago as it is today. If the cockies are doing well the businesses reap the rewards and with so many nice cars I am sure we could come up with another trip. However should we consider another town for this type of meet, we the New South Walers have stayed away from the Pacific Highway and the coast because of the heavy and dangerous traffic conditions on the long weekend, but is there somewhere else, does anyone have any suggestions? Now, onto the All British Day and our concourse. By now you would have seen an email about a judging day being held at our place. At this stage we have only had three reply’s stating their attendance on the day. If you want to be involved in the concourse part of the day, please reply to Warren’s email or let me know either by email or phone. And that is it from me. Greg Holden President 3 JULY 2013 SPRITE TORQUE MEMBER’S CORNER Welcome new members this month Robert Blayden of New Lambton (Newcastle). • 1 Chassis Number Guide
Chassis number guide You will be asked for your vehicle’s chassis number if you purchase any of our archive products (including heritage certificates). It is important to quote the chassis number from the vehicle itself as opposed to any documentation (including logbooks) as these often contain errors. We have created this guide to provide you with further information relating to chassis numbers, including where to find them. What is a chassis number? The ‘chassis number’ can also be referred to as the ‘car number’ or VIN (Vehicle Identity Number). This number is unique to the vehicle and can be used for identification purposes. Why the chassis number and not the registration mark? All of our information comes from the original factory build and despatch records and these are recorded in chassis number order. Registration marks were allocated to the vehicles at the different dealerships once they left the factory and we do not hold the records for these. Where do you find the chassis number and what does it look like? Please use the following list to find out more information relating to your vehicle. If you have any difficulty in locating the chassis number we recommend contacting a relevant car owners club for guidance.
