Dear Patient,

We hope this message reaches you in good health.

The Covid 19 vaccines are now being rolled out across the country and we have recently begun vaccination processes across Harrow. At present, unless in a care home or absolutely house bound, we can only give the vaccine at one of 3 sites – one in Rayners Lane, one in Central Harrow and one in East Harrow.

We have attached a question and answer sheet prepared by the NHS with regard to the Covid vaccine manufactured by Pfizer, the first vaccine to be rolled out. There is more information available on the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus- vaccine/

Please take the time to review these questions and answers and access the NHS COVID 19 website so that you are informed as much as possible about the vaccine. Beyond this your GP will not have much more information to give you. Please also discuss with family friends or carers about which centre you would prefer and make provisional plans of how you may get there and be fully immunised having two injections of the vaccines 21 days apart.

A member of staff from this surgery will telephone you in the near future to obtain your consent so that you can be given an appointment to be immunised. Please note that practices are attempting to book patients into their preferred site however there may be instances where this is not possible. Additionally, clinics may be running at different times and on different dates. We kindly ask that patients remain flexible when it comes to booking appointments.

Initially, we will be aiming to immunise patients over the age of 80 then 70, 60 and 50 and giving priority to those at risk due to underlying medical conditions. Separate plans are being made to immunise those in care homes and those who cannot get to the Centres due to physical disability or access to support to get to the Centres.

We respectfully request that you do not telephone or visit the surgery with any queries regarding the vaccine at the present time as we have no further information; we ask that you refer to the questions and answers attached and also the NHS website. When booking the appointment, you will be provided with the number for cancelling/ rearranging the appointment as this will not be dealt with by the practice.

With best wishes and season’s greetings, Dr S. Zaidi (GP Principal) Pratibha Kumar (Practice Manager) and Trupti Chauhan (Operations Manager)
