BLACK FRIDAY 2020

As we are all very aware of, 2020 has been a strange year with many challenges, but will the holidays be one of them? With many limitations to seeing our families that we should follow to keep ourselves and others around us safe, the holidays will not be the same. A tradition many families have is going shopping, and even you yourself may participate in this annual ‘shopping day’ every year...but how will we manage to participate in it while abiding by the CDC guidelines to keep our country as safe as possible from the pandemic? Every year there is Black Friday and also cyber-Monday...although, this year it looks like Black Friday is going to be more of a cyber-Monday!! Some stores were still open on black Friday and carried on as usual while wearing face masks/coverings and having their staff and customers socially distanced. Because of space Audrey Bullock limitations, this year has opened up many more online deals and many people chose to stay at home. The SECRET of SECRET SANTA Fun Explained

GIRLS BASKETBALL 2020 BOYS BASKETBALL 2020 Thoughts from New Head Season Thoughts from Head Coach, Ryan McKissock: Coach, Becky Leandro We are excited to get rolling with the CSHS Girls Basketball Boys Basketball Season Outlook: program. While I am new to the position of Head Girls Basketball Size, experience, and quickness will be the 3 things to look for Coach, I am not new to basketball, and more importantly to this as the 2020-2021 boys’ basketball team takes to the court this team. Over the past few years my Assistant Coach, Tori Hansen season. and I have coached or coached against many of these girls, so we know first-hand just how much they love the game and want to Top returners from last year include: Trent Wheeler (6'5"), compete and succeed. We look for Aly and our Freshmen Paige run. Porter, Brooklyn Cole, Mackenzie Beck and Moira York to all contribute this year.

We are very thrilled with the girls’ progress through the first few weeks and were excited to opening the season against probably the best girls’ program in the state, Villa Maria Academy, on Friday 12/11. We feel thankful for the opportunity and hope we can continue our season in January if we get a break from the impact of COVID19 restrictions. These girls are hungry and want to compete against any opponent.

Lady WRESTLING 2020

Devils Looking Forward: Outlook from 2020: Coach Dalton Lester They’re Anticipation is growing for the upcoming season. With almost every tournament cancelled for the year, the season will look a READY, lot different. Once things get rolling again we will be having duals or tri meets three to four times a week. We have four waiting seniors with Ayden Miller- out with an injury, but hoping for his return before the end of the year. The three other seniors are to PLAY Colton Smith, Jake Jones and Eli Mosconi. These boys know this is their last shot at achieving their goals they have set at very young ages. Expecting a great season out of these guys. Our Junior class is turning the corner where they now have the experience on the mat to have a breakout year. The sophomore class might be young but they are force to be reckoned with. I’m also excited for our incoming freshman. These are boys that have wrestled their whole lives and are a perfect fit to the lineup. Definitely expecting big things to come from this team this year. Still a young team but I think this is one of our best teams we’ve had in years.

2020: Looking Back and Looking Ahead Alix Hiburn

2020 has been a rough year to say the least. Last December everyone was excited for the new year, it was supposed to be the year we got our lives back on track, ‘a new year, new me’ kind of situation. Everyone was talking about how the start of a new decade must be the start of something great. And in a sense it was the start of something great, a great big list of everything that could possibly go wrong that is. Now I could sit here and list everything that has gone wrong so far, but let’s face it, if I did that we’d be here until next Christmas and a lot of you have the attention span of a goldfish. From fires, famous celebrities dying suddenly, to the election and the pandemic, everything has gone to the dogs. Because face it, whatever your stance on these issues, it’s affected all of us.

Surely everyone has said that they wonder what it's like to live during a monumental event in history at some point in their life. Now of course we hoped it to be the cure for cancer, spaceships, or anything that you might see in a sci-fi movie, no one expected it to be a global pandemic. One great feat was the first man to land on the moon back in 1969, which happened before the majority of us were born. An astounding accomplishment that we would’ve liked to see, but instead of living to see the first colonies on Mars or something of the sort, we have lived to see over one and a half million people die from COVID19. As you can see these ‘accomplishments’ are not the same.

All this being said, we can only hope that 2021 is better than its predecessor. With a COVID vaccine in the works, a new presidential term, plenty of movies that were supposed to come out in 2020, and more, this year is guaranteed to be a wild ride.
