He did his Masters in Physics (Electronics) in 1988 and Ph.D. in 1992 from the same university. Trained under MHRD’s Leadership for Academicians Program (LEAP) jointly at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and University of Pennsylvania, USA, Dr. SachchidaNand Shukla holds 28 years’ experience of teaching M.Sc. (Physics) and M.Sc. (Electronics) students and 4 years’ experience of teaching B.Tech., MCA and B.Sc. (Electronics) students. He has published 90 research papers in peer-reviewed/ indexed journals of International/National repute & conference proceedings and 06 books. In his supervision 14 research scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degree. Apart from attending 37 National/International conferences/workshops he has also visited 7 Countries (USA, Italy, Malaysia, Mauritius, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Nepal) for training and research purposes and organized 02 International Conferences, 03 National Conferences and 01 Workshop in the capacity of Convener, Organizing Secretary and Coordinator respectively. In addition to it he is the recipient of Best Scientist National Award (2018) of IRDP Group of Journals, Chennai and Maatee Ratan Samman (2017). He has also been selected as Fellow of IACSIT (International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, Singapore) in 2017, Fellow of IETE (Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers) in 2019 and Associate Fellow of IAPS (International Academy of Physical Sciences) in 2018 and Fellow of SASS (Scholars Academic & Scientific Society) in 2020. This thesis concerns aspects of the history of certain South Asian languages, in particular Hindi and Urdu, (or Hindustani), but in a way, Sanskrit and Persian as well. Now that I take stock of my attempts to learn each of these languages I realize that I have been assisted in no small way by a rather large cohort of language teachers, for each of whom I hold enormous fonts of respect, affection and gratitude.
