POSTGAME NOTES NOVEMBER 14, 2015 GAME 10: AT LSU
TEAM Arkansas tallied its 700th win in program history. Arkansas held Leonard Fournette under 100 yards rushing for the second consecutive week. Before last week, he had nine consecutive games of 100+ yards on the ground. The Razorbacks are bowl-eligible for the second consecutive season for the first time since 10-11. Arkansas has won four consecutive games for the first time since 2011. The Razorbacks have four SEC wins, matching their total from the last three seasons combined. Arkansas’ opponents have four first downs and have not scored a point on their last four opening drives of the game. The Razorbacks held LSU to -3 rush yards in the first half, the second fewest ever in a first half for the Tigers under Les Miles. Arkansas had three touchdowns of 50+ yards. Came into the game with four such plays this season. The Razorbacks have defeated LSU and kept “The Boot” in consecutive seasons for the first time since 07-08. Arkansas handed LSU its second-largest home loss under Les Miles (31-13 loss to Ole Miss in 2008). The Razorbacks (2-20) had fewer penalty yards than LSU (7-46). Arkansas has had fewer or equal to as many penalty yards as its opponent in six consecutive games. Arkansas lost the possession battle 30:17-to-29:43, the Razorbacks are now 3-1 this season when losing the time of possession battle. The Razorbacks had a season-high five sacks. Arkansas came into the game with eight sacks in the first nine games of the season Arkansas is now 2-1 this season in road games in front of crowds of 100,000+.
QB BRANDON ALLEN Has five touchdown passes of 50+ yards this season. Came into the year with two for his career. Has at least one touchdown pass in 12 of his last 13 games.
RB ALEX COLLINS With 141 rushing yards, surpassed Dickey Morton (3,317) for third in program history with 3,335 for his career. With 1,209 rushing yards this season, he boasts the seventh-most in a single season in program history. Had the 15th game of his career with 100+ rushing yards, which ties him with Dickey Morton for third in program history. Has 100+ rushing yards in 8-of-10 games this season, which is the second-most in a single season in program history (Darren McFadden had 10 in 2007). Eight games of 100+ rushing yards this season leads the SEC. Has a career-high four consecutive games with 100+ rushing yards. Has 100+ rushing yards in 5-of-6 SEC games this season after doing so in 2-of-16 SEC games in his first two years.
It was the 13th time in program history that a player has had 100+ rushing yards against LSU. With two rushing touchdowns, set a career high with 14 on the season. Has scored a touchdown in 8-of-10 games this season and 16-of-23 games since the start of last year. Has 30 career rushing touchdowns, which ties him with Ben Cowans for fourth in program history. His 80-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter was the longest play by a Razorback this season and the second-longest rush of his career (84 yard touchdown run at Texas Tech last season). His 80-yard touchdown run was the longest rush given up by LSU since Darren McFadden also went for an 80- yard rushing score against the Tigers in 2006.
RB KODY WALKER Had career highs of 17 attempts and 88 rushing yards. Had a career-long rush of 28 yards in the second quarter.
WR DOMINIQUE REED Has scored a touchdown in six consecutive games. Has three touchdown catches of 50+ yards this season. His 40-yard kickoff return in the third quarter was the longest by a Razorback this season.
WR DREW MORGAN Had a career long rush of nine yards in the third quarter.
WR JARED CORNELIUS Had a career long rush of 69 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
TE HUNTER HENRY Has a reception in 19 straight games and in 32-of-35 career contests. Made his 100th career reception in the first quarter. He’s the 13th tight end in SEC history to do so.
DE DEATRICH WISE, JR. Had a career-high 2.5 sacks. Came into the game with seven sacks in 33 career contests. 2.5 sacks is the most by a Razorback since Taiwan Johnson had 2.5 vs. Nicholls last season. It’s the most by a Razorback in an SEC game since Trey Flowers had 3.5 at Auburn in 2012.
LB DRE GREENLAW Recorded his first career sack and second career forced fumble in the second quarter. Led the team in total tackles (12) for the fifth time in eight starts this season.
DB DJ DEAN Recorded his team-high second interception of the season in the fourth quarter. Is the team’s active leader with four career interceptions.
